  • The largest living creature on earth, the General Sherman tree, is close to 2,200 years old. Imagine; the tree was a mere seedling when King Solomn built his temple in Jerusalem, a sapling when Christ was born. The General generates enough wood each year to produce a 60-foot tall tree of average size. Dozens of giant sequoia are neighbors to the General; the half-mile downhill trail into the Giant Forest offers access to the General and all the beautiful and hardy creatures. Just be aware returning to the parking lot requires a gentle, uphill walk. It was certainly worth the trip. This hotel was the worst! The bed looked like it was slept in. It had an awful smell in the room. The staff did not speak English and had to call the management to talk. We checked in and out! We did not stay it was so bad. It should NOT be listed on Expedia. Please refund my money!

This is a modest motel in Lone Pine that is acceptably clean. there are not a lot of choices when staying in Loan Pine, and I picked this one because it had a microwave, a refrigerator, and a bathtub. The heating worked well, but the fan is very loud.

So dirty and old. The carpets were gross. Crumbs all along the walls where the vacuum doesn’t reach. The bedding is colored and looks ancient. It was simply gross. The bed was also hard as a rock. The floors sunken in at multiple places. If you care about cleanliness, do not stay here under any circumstances
