Hotel St. James

"I really loved my stay at the Hotel St.James, the location was perfect I was just down the street from Oh Mary! And even though Times Square was just down the street the hotel was so nice, clean & quiet. The staff were so friendly and the bed was amazing. Nice big bathroom & had lots of storage space for all my shopping."

"Hotel is convenient to metro/subway lines, rooms were clean, friendly staff, and comfortable bed. Although room and bath tub were a bit on the smaller side, it was okay for us as we spent most of the day out on our daily excursions & sightseeing. Lobby, bar/lounge area was always lively and bustling with people whenever we returned to the hotel in the evenings. Price on hotel.com was what ultimately helped us to decide on booking this hotel. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others!"

"The staff was nice. The room was also nice. I did notice that the smoke detector was taped to the ceiling and the ceiling peeling in the bathroom. I personally did not care about that, but it may be important to others. The area around the hotel is calm and people are out more in the morning than during the night."

"The elevators were slow sometimes but the longest I waited was about 5 minutes. The TV in our room kept randomly turning off. I reported it twice and the first time it worked for a few hours, the second time, it never worked. I reported it not working when I checked out. The room was clean, some minor dirt and wrappers find it I really looked. The location was excellent and our room was quiet."

"Trendy hotel in a phenomenal location! Close to MSG & Penn station for easy metro everywhere! The rooms are compact but cozy and the layout maximizes the small space. The shower and toiletries blissful. Will stay here again and again!"

"The only true detriment during our stay was that the revolving door was not self-propelled. At first, I thought that perhaps it was the design, and it was not intended to revolve on its own. Then I saw a maintenance crew working on it, then a sign warning of rotation, so I knew then that it was simply broken. I did notice that the bell staff were intent on pushing guests into using the town cars parked outside. That did not sit well with me. Other than those two issues, our stay was uneventful, save for one issue: apparently, the building suffered a fire alarm trip, which called out the NYFD. It was during quiet hours, so the sound of an announcement in our room was jarring. After a while, an all-clear was issued."

"My stay had a few major drawbacks. The room needed maintenance, the bathtub drained at a crawl, and the chair was worn out with peeling vinyl. On top of that, a fire alarm woke me up on my third night. We were told to stay in our rooms for 35 minutes before the all-clear was given, which was very unsettling. I expected better quality and communication for the price.”"
