"The property was spotless and very homely. Everything you need was there and also lovely fresh flowers, milk and biscuits on arrival. There was even treats for the dogs. The staff were lovely that we had met also. You definitely need to take a torch as its very dark at night trying to walk the dogs."

We were able to cook good meals on an excellent gas range although there are a few bits and pieces of cutlery/crockery that would have made it even better. This was the fifth time we have stayed in this cottage; it is a great place to stay if you want to see many places in the area. We even visited Newcastle (easy if you use 'park and metro') and as far as Kelso in Scotland to see Floors Castle."

"We stayed Monday to Friday for four nights during the recent heatwave. We wondered how easy it would be to sleep with no air-con but our room had a great ceiling fan and a window to open in the bedroom and one in the bathroom. The air circulation was spot on and we slept very well in the comfy bed. The whole place was very clean and welcoming with attentive and friendly staff. Breakfast was superb, as was the meal we had the evening we arrived. Parking was always available on site. The hotel is in a very good position, just on the edge of town but close enough to walk to the centre in ten minutes. We will definitely be back in the future."
