Beautiful 2 Bed, 2 Bath Casa Steps From The Beach & Pools In Loreto Bay
Just steps from the beach, several pools, restaurants, the coffee shop, local store, hotel, and Sea of Cortez marine preserve, this is a beautifully furnished, well equipped Spanish style courtyard casa in the Founder's Neighborhood of Loreto Bay, a purpose-built vacation resort in Loreto, Baja California Sur.
Hang out on the breezy viewing tower and watch boats and kayakers in the ocean, or sip margaritas while taking in the sunset over the mountains. Sunbathe on the roof terrace or stroll along the beach hand in hand with your love. Swim in any of the four pools, including the chilled lap pool, just steps from the casa.
A truly idyllic vacation spot for people looking to get away from it all and relax in comfort and style.
The house is a short 10-minute drive from the airport and a 15-minute drive from downtown Loreto. You’ll love it because of the location (it's in the best part of Founders Neighborhood in Loreto Bay, halfway between the coffee shop, El Corazon and the beach), the views, the ambiance, the people, the vibe, the weather, the decor, and the relaxed nature of the community.
This house is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids) and consists of a Great Room (kitchen, living and dining) with french doors to two courtyards, two bedrooms (one king and one with two queen beds), two bathrooms, a furnished roof terrace and a furnished viewing tower.
You'll have free access to 4 pools and the beach and charged access to the golf course, kayaks, paddle boards, boat trips, fishing trips etc. There are also coffee shops, bars, restaurants and a couple of stores within close walking distance of the casa.
THINGS TO DO:
Apart from relaxing by the pools or on the beach, the number one thing to do in Loreto is to get out on the water in a boat. When you do, you are likely to see dolphins, whales, whale sharks, rays, sea lions, and a ton of fish.
The best way to do that is to book a fishing, snorkeling or island tour. We like to use Loreto Land & Sea Tours in Loreto.
You can also rent a kayak from Adolfo’s on the beach and paddle around the big rock to see some fish locally.
If you’re staying between mid-January and March / April, you can go see the gray whales that come in to give birth and raise their young in the lagoon near Adolfo Lopez Mateos. It’s about a 90-minute drive south and west of the house and completely worth it if you want to see whales close up.
The town of Loreto is a 15-minute drive north of the house and is worth checking out. In addition to stores and restaurants, there is a nice shady street with lots of artisan shops, a 500-year-old mission church, a long malecon to walk along the edge of the sea, and on some Friday nights bands and musicians playing in the town square near a cluster of restaurants.
You can also drive up to another 500-year-old mission in San Javier in the mountains (about an hour). It’s a fun adventure and the mission is beautiful.
WALKABLE RESTAURANTS:
There are 10 restaurants that serve breakfast, lunch or dinner within walking distance.
The coffee shop El Corazon serves cooked breakfasts and lunches but is closed on Sundays.
There are two restaurants and another bar at the hotel down the beach. The main restaurant is a great place to get breakfast and the pool restaurant a great place to get lunch.
There are two restaurants across the Paseo from the hotel (near the family pool): The wine bar is open in the evenings starting and has tapas style food and Le Bistro is open for lunch and dinner.
Heading the other way from the house Pepeginas at the golf club serves pizza and other lunch and dinner options. The Dos Lobos Gallery serves food on some nights. Anita’s serves breakfast and lunch. Pedro’s serves lunch and dinner, and Gastroteca Azul is a fancier US style dinner restaurant that requires reservations through their website.
There are also two chefs that will come to your home and cook for you:
Chef Felipe & Chef Marisol. For their contact info visit the website Nopolo News which keeps an up to date list of all restaurants and chefs and their opening times.
DRIVABLE RESTAURANTS:
There are a ton of restaurants you can drive to. Our favorites are Mi Loreto, Orlando’s and Super Burro in town. And the sand floor restaurant that’s on the beach about a 10-minute drive south on the highway. There are also several other good indoor-outdoor restaurants in town around the main square and along the Malecon.
GROCERY STORES:
There are three small convenience/grocery stores within walking distance of the house and several larger supermarkets in the town of Loreto (about 15 minutes drive away).
The closest grocery/convenience store is a 1-2 minute walk from the house, across the street from the coffee shop. It sells essentials, candy, snacks, some dairy, fresh groceries, dry goods, and some frozen meats. Enough to make a couple of meals.
The others, are about a 7-minute walk away and are next to or attached to Pedro’s restaurant. The one attached to Pedro’s sells harder to find spices, gluten-free pasta, cheeses, and meats - the store to go to if you want to be a bit more creative in your cooking. The other is a more standard Modelorama store focused more on beer and snacks.
If you plan to cook a lot, you will probably want to drive into Loreto and visit the large grocery stores there. The two biggest are Super Ley Express on Calle Indepencia between Heroes de la Indepencia and Padre Kino, and El Pescador on the corner of Calle Indepencia and Blvd Salvatierra.
CHECK IN:
Check-in is 3 pm. If we have had back to back guests the cleaners will need the full time until 3 to clean the place, so please try not to arrive early.
It’s a self-check-in as all the exterior doors on the house are secured with keycode locks. So you can just go ahead and let yourselves in.
DIRECTIONS TO THE HOUSE:
The address of the place won't come up on maps, unfortunately, so if you’re driving, enter “el corazon cafe, nopolo, bcs. mexico” into your favorits maps app or website instead. If you’re getting a shuttle or taxi, ask them to drop you at El Corazon coffee shop in Loreto Bay.
When you come out of the airport, turn left on the highway and drive for 6 miles or so. To get into the community you can either turn left on Calle San Ignacio (where the big orange sculpture and signs say to turn for Nopolo and the hotel), or you can drive another mile south and turn left into the development after you see the houses and golf course on your left, just before the highway starts going up into the hills.
Once you’re into the community you’ll come to the Paseo - the main road that runs through everything. At one end is the hotel and at the other end are the last few houses still being built.
Once you’re in the community and heading down the Paseo, drive until you see the coffee shop El Corazón. Park your car or get dropped as close to the coffee shop as you can.
The house is on a walkway named Calle Santuario. It is a red house about halfway between the coffee shop (El Corazon) and the beach. Walk east towards the beach along the walkway to the left of the coffee shop. Walk straight through the courtyard and then turn right. 529 is the red house on your left.
CHECKOUT:
Checkout is 11 am and cleaners will be arriving to service the house at that time. Before you leave, please take all garbage and recycling to the trash cans by the coffee shop. You can leave good and unopened food on the fridge, the cleaners will take it. Also, please make it obvious which towels and linens need to be washed (e.g. by putting dirty towels on the floor) and make sure plates, silverware, pots and pans, and any kitchen equipment you used are clean and back in the respective cabinets. Lastly, please make sure everything else is generally back where you found it and that you let me know of any breakages or damage so I can claim on insurance.
COMMUNITY RULES:
The resort HOA has some basic rules that all residents and guests must observe:
1. Noise reduction:
Our village homes are close together, with lots of outside spaces, including gardens, courtyards, terraces and towers. Loud voices, music, etc., carry from one house to another. Please respect your neighbors when using these outdoor spaces during the day and speak quietly from your outdoor spaces after 10:00pm.
2. Pool rules:
Please obey all posted rules at each pool area. Please do not attempt to reserve a chair when you are not using the pool area. THERE IS NO LIFEGUARD AT POOLS - use at your own risk.
3. Pet Control:

4.Vehicle Operation
Fuel-powered vehicles may NOT be operated on Common Areas or walkways. Children under 16 must not drive golf carts or any other motorized vehicles. Excessive speeding will be penalized.
5. Parking:

6. Clothes Drying:
No items of clothing or clothes lines are allowed to be hung where they can be seen from the common areas or from neighboring homes.
7. Trash removal:
