If you must book here, don't arrive early or late, & bring toilet paper!
I was arriving at LAX at 12:30 a.m. so I needed a secure bed to crash in. Expedia said "24-hour reception", so I paid for a reservation & added a note that I would be coming in late & to save my bed.
When I arrived at 3, there was no staff, but the door was open, so I went in. There was no welcome note or explanation, but I found my name on a board under room #4, so I searched & found room #4 - all 4 beds were occupied!
It was looking like another Uber & trying to find another hotel --at 3 a.m. On a whim, I opened another room and found an empty bed. The window was open, so it was 45 degrees, but by doubling one blanket & leaving all my clothes on, I could sleep.
The following day, nature called, and I went to the bathroom to poop, only to discover there was no toilet paper.
Downstairs, I met Alex, the dayshift worker, and mentioned the lack of T.P. His response was he didn't work nights, so it was not his responsibility.
I mentioned the absence of a night-time receptionist and that my dorm bed seemed to have been given to someone else, and his response was: "It's first come, first serve & if you want better service, I should have booked a hotel."
At 9:30 a.m., as I was leaving, a new guest arrived & Alex said, "You are too early; you have to leave & come back after 3 p.m. without offering to store luggage, which most hostels offer.
So now you know the reasons for my first sentence!
