A wonderful place in the mountains

We loved the house and the scenery. Lots of space to socialize and to be for your self. Beautiful pool area with absolutely stunning views. Attention to detail in everything from check-in to shower kits in the bathrooms. Nothing

All in all, this was a very special spot.

Our stay at the villa was a long awaited special treat, and it didn’t disappoint! The place was absolutely stunning and we enjoyed downtime by the pool and in the spacious and clean spaces. It’s worth noting that the drive to the villa is very steep. We arrived in pouring rain and were very glad we had a local who was familiar with the roads for the drive. The Villa is also quite a ways from Lucca, so unless you have a car you’re far from amenities.

An Amazing Stay!

We stayed as a family of four (2 adults, 2 fourteen year old boys) for a week in Aug 2023 just after the property had been renovated and had a brilliant week. The setting is high in the hills about 20 mins drive outside of Lucca so naturally you need a car. The view across the plain is stunning and you have complete privacy. When we stayed in Aug 2023 I would recommend a four wheel drive car for the uphill gravel access road, front wheel drive was at the limit - worth bearing in mind when booking as that may evolve in time. The house itself was super comfortable and had more bedrooms and space than we needed but welcome nonetheless. With temperatures in the high 30s the air conditioning in bedrooms was really welcome at night. Other rooms are also air conditioned but we didn't need it outside of bedrooms. By day we spent a lot of time in the pool. Although the water was fairly warm it was cool enough relative to the air temperature. To get there you go up a set of steep steps to the level where you can see over the house looking down the hillside. Inside the rooms are big, bathrooms good and kitchen had everything plus big fridge freezer and everything you need for cooking. It was great to have plenty of outdoor seating / eating areas with comfortable furniture, plus large BBQ. Given the newness there were some minor things which were quickly sorted when we mentioned and are part of bedding in. It's worth being aware of the slightly marginal mains electricity supply which is outside the control of the owners. If you have too much electrical load the fuse can trip but it's easy to flip back. WiFi was a little patchy but workable. Owner and agent were lovely and easy to deal with, and Lucca is a great town, other cities such as Florence and Pisa within easy reach. We would thoroughly recommend this property.
