Sonshine Cabin is your own private park. With wildlife or a hike to the creek.

Welcome to the beautiful Sonshine Cabin, Conveniently located to hwy 421 Close to Madison ,Versailles and Friendship. The cabin is located on 15 ac and offers peace and quite. With 1800 sq of living space which includes a fully equipped , completely renovated kitchen to prepare meals. Enjoy your meals on a custom built table in the dining area. On the back deck you can enjoy grilling on a Blackstone grill with outdoor seating. On the main level is the great room with a stone fireplace. There is plenty of seating with a big leather sectional, a sleeper sofa to relax. Make your way up the stairs, you will notice the beautiful handmade cedar railings, from cedar trees off the property. Upstairs you will find 3 private bedrooms all with Queen beds. We also have a toddler bed and provide a pack n play for smaller children. There is 1 full bath upstairs and a half bath on the main level. One of the favorite places is the front porch with seating to watch the wildlife! It is a short hike to the creek, which offers hours of fun for the kids. You can also enjoy roasting
Hotdogs and s’mores at the fire pit, pitch some horseshoes, or play some frisbee golf. If you are looking for a peaceful park like setting then Sonshine cabin is for you. We have recently added a security camera. It is on the outside of the cabin. There are no cameras inside the cabin. We respect your privacy and added the camera for security only. The cabin is located in a private area and we felt the camera would give guests additional peace of mind.

Peaceful and beautiful retreat

Great location, beautiful area. Cabin is well maintained and expresses the love given to it by those who care for it. Wonderful place for kids or without. Can't say enough about this place. Truly an amazing place to get away, relax, and let nature heal you of the stresses of everyday life.

Another great stay

This was our 4th stay here! The location is just what our family wants/needs. Lots of privacy, huge yard for our boys to play in, great house set up, and the creek to play in. We love getting to watch all kinds of birds from sun up to sun down. Great front porch to enjoy morning coffee and the firepit out back for the evenings (or all day). Looking forward to our next stay.

Family Fun

We asked the kids the best part and they said playing at the cabin. They love the creek down below and the fish that sings. The cabin was clean and well stocked with kitchen needs. Plenty of blankets to snuggle up on the couch as well.

New Year’s Eve/Birthday Getaway

Perfect place to bring in the new year and celebrate my wife’s birthday. Property was exactly as described and cabin was the cleanest Vrbo we have ever seen. The creek, cascades and waterfall had a nice flow due recent rains which my wife loved. Communication was prompt and polite. Highly Recommend!!

Hidden Gem

This is a great place to stay!! Wonderful outdoor area , plenty of space to relax and just enjoy being there. I was outside for over an hour just enjoying the weather and never heard a car. The inside is perfect for a family. All the rooms are decorated very nicely. This is definitely a place I will look at staying again.

Awesome Stay

We were in town for the weekend for a race event we had. This was a perfect place for us all to stay. The host stayed in contact with us and was available at anytime if we needed anything at all. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely be staying here again! :) Thank you so much.

Fantastic Cabin

This home/cabin is a great place to stay. It has so many positives. The interior is very comfortable and inviting, with nice woodwork throughout the kitchen, living area, and bedrooms. Outside has a great front porch, deck in back, spacious yard and trees, and a winding path down through the woods to the creek and waterfall. Very quiet and private area. 15 miles or so to downtown Madison, which has walkable main street with nice shops and restaurants. Clifty Falls State Park has great hiking. Lots of rain when we visited, but, that didn't dampen our enjoyment. And, made the waterfalls more dramatic.

Relaxing Getaway

We had a wonderful rainy weekend at rhe Sonshine Cabin. It was so clean and comfortable. We loved having the fireplace. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed. We were surrounded by nature and enjoyed the trail to the creek. Our hostess, Jackie was always available to answer our questions as well as being so kind. We will definitely be returning.

My family of 9 stayed here for 6 nights from July 10th through the 16th and we couldn't have been any happier. Everything was so wonderful. Jackie was so nice! We love sitting on the porch watching all the humming birds. They provided so many things that you didn't have to go to the store and buy. The kids loved going down to the creek. It was just a great relaxing time. We will definetely be back😃

Another great stay!

This was our 3rd stay at the Sonshine Cabin. Another great experience! Love the ability to disconnect from the "outside world." Our family, especially our boys, love being able to just run around the yard, explore the woods, and go "creek splashing." From fires in the backyard pit to sitting on the front porch, it's such a great getaway. Lots of nature to see--all kinds of woodpeckers and other birds, turkeys, deer, opossums, and even a raccoon sleeping in the tree above the swing. The cabin inside is very comfy, as well. Love the kitchen updates! Looking forward to coming back again.

Girls Get Away Weekend

Me, my sister, and our daughters enjoyed a great weekend at this cabin north of Madison. Cabin was wonderful for our needs. We shopped on Friday, had lunch, toured a couple of the historic homes, and then made our way to the cabin for the rest of the weekend. The cabin was out and away from close neighbors and provided everything you need - from all the appliances, etc. in the kitchen, to spaces to relax, play games, sit on the porch and just enjoy the park like setting. Just what we wanted and needed for a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend together! There was a nice grill out the back door with all the things you needed, but we didn’t use it. Also a very nice trail down to the water. A very clean and well appointed cabin. Highly recommend!

A great place to stay

We were 3 couples on a fun weekend getaway and the Sonshine cabin was just right for all 6 of us. There is plenty of room inside and out. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms worked out great. Thankful for the Blackstone as we cooked several meals on it. The kitchen has everything needed. The front porch and back patio, both great spots for morning coffee. A great firepit for smores. The walk to and through the creek were so fun to explore. Enjoyed the fun games around the yard and the walk around the field as we tried to determine where Mr. turkey was coming out to explore as were we. Vevay & Madison were within a ½ hour drive and had lots of restaurants and fun things to check out and do. Our hosts were easy to communicate with and really friendly. We would stay again if we are ever in the area. If you plan to be, definitely stay at the Sonshine cabin!

Sonshine Cabin was amazing! Our entire family enjoyed the serenity of the outdoors with bird watching, nightly firefly beauty, picking wild flowers and hiking to and through the creek. The cabin was clean, well supplied with everything we needed to enjoy a stress free vacation. The hosts were accommodating and communication with them was easy and friendly. Peaceful cabin!

This was our second stay at Sonshine cabin and it was amazing! We wanted to get away somewhere relaxing for our anniversary. Sonshine cabin was the perfect spot!! Check-in was very easy & we had good communication with Greg & Jackie. The kitchen is very adequately stocked with anything you could need. We enjoyed having meals on the front porch so we could watch the birds! We enjoyed a hike to the creek and also a game of disc golf. We highly recommend Sonshine cabin!!
