We are a family of six with two kids and booked this hotel with half board through Expedia because we wanted a convenient option for our family. Breakfast was very good, with a nice selection of food served at the hotel, and we were happy with that part of our stay. Unfortunately, dinner at the restaurant next door was a very disappointing experience. The half-board menu was completely different from the regular menu and was printed on a paper only in Spanish, with no English version available. Very few staff members could explain the options in English. The menu was the same every day, with only 2-3 choices for the main course, one drink option (wine or water), and dessert choices. There was no juice option, which was disappointing since we were traveling with children. The biggest issue was that Expedia did not mention that the half-board package came with a restricted menu different from the restaurant’s regular menu. This should have been clearly explained before booking. On our final evening during the World Cup final, we asked to sit inside because it was very hot outside and full of cigarette smoke. We were told we had to pay an extra €20 per person to sit inside because the TVs would be showing the game. We were not there to watch the match; we simply wanted a comfortable place to eat. This extra charge was also never mentioned when booking. Overall, the half-board dinner experience was disappointing.

Nice Hotel Great Location

Nice hotel right in the heart of Madrid. From the moment we arrived the front desk staff was excellent. They told us great places to eat, gave us a map of the city showing the location of of the major attractions, and arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport when we were ready to leave. This is a great location if you want to walk around the city and see the sights and hear the sounds. The room was comfortable and included all of the essentials.
