Quick weekend trip
This house was perfect for two families since there are two kitchens, and everybody had their own space. Although I would not recommend sleeping downstairs as you can hear every noise from the upstairs area.

Good place!
We had a lovely time at this place with our family! The fire pit was a hit for the kids, we all enjoyed some laughs by the fire. The screened in porch was a great spot to sit with your coffee in the morning. Only issue was getting up the driveway. If you don’t have 4 wheel drive, the gravel uphill can be a battle.

Great spot tucked away!
A very nice house tucked away in the state park. Make sure the ferry is actually running before heading to the national park, and make sure that you’ve got a vehicle that can make it up a steepish gravel driveway (it was touch and go in our minivan). Other than that, the hosts do a great job of communicating everything you need to know about the property!

Roomy home for family
4 large bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 bath home with large screened in porch off the main living/dining area. Very near the lake; can walk on the 2 lane room to the beach within 10 minutes but we usually drove. Beautiful view of sky from fire pit. Ther are stairs to get into top level from outside and inside the home but the hill on right of home goes to door of screened porch to make hauling coolers easier. Can walk up that hill to porch to be on top leavel, instead of taking stairs, if have trouble with stairs. Nice home for large groups.

Weekend get away with friends
We stayed here with our friends to celebrate my husband's birthday and go hiking at Mammoth cave. It was very clean, easily accessible, and was reasonably close to mammoth cave. A little further down the road there is also a little park with a lake that had an incredible sunset when we were there.

I rented the house for 2 nights and we stayed one because after we went to the cave and horseback riding we were done and there's not a lot for 2 adults to do after that...the house was fine and clean and if you have a large group its very spacious. The yard was well kept and the screened in porch with the swing was very peaceful. My only suggestion is to upgrade the bath towels..they were nice and jumbo fluffy but super torn

Great private location
The house is easy to find, although there are neighbors, when you sit in the screened porch you feel like you're on total privacy. The owner was very nice and answered the text I sent quickly. It was right next to Nolin Lake and a relatively quick ride to Mammoth Cave. My whole family enjoyed the house with plenty of room to spread out.

Great For a Family Trip
The house has two separate and complete living spaces, one up and one down. The downstairs space includes a kitchen (the extra fridge was a real plus) and a TV along with the two bedrooms and bathroom. This was perfect for the three grandkids. They could have their own space at times while the adults were upstairs. There is a spacious screened in porch which was great for relaxing and talking. Also, with heat indexes over 100, the A/C performed like a champ. Just a great setup for us.

We had a fun time here. It's a short walk to the beautiful sunsets by the lake and had everything we needed for a family vacation. The grill worked well, the fire pit was perfect for smores, and the extra kitchen worked well for keeping drinks cold.

Quite disappointing
House was big enough for my family. I think the owner needs to inspect the property between guests, and highly recommend a new cleaning crew if one is currently being used. Upon using upstairs ovens we learned both haven’t been cleaned in at least one year maybe more. The bed linens in my youngest granddaughter’s bedroom had stains on the sheets, both fitted and top sheet and the bed skirt was soiled. When my grandson showered downstairs he saw one of the bath towels had stains on it. The upstairs porch looked beautiful but it had spiderwebs galore and the seating was stained and also appeared unclean. We made reservations in may and spoke with the owner and she boasted about being so close to lake Nolan state park and the beach but when we got there the beach and park was closed. When we asked locals about it they said it’s been closed since April. This was a big issue since we had planned a beach day in our trip. Originally I felt communications were great but after arriving and being so let down about the property we feel we have been over sold, over promised, and underwhelmed. And when we tried to contact the owner we had crickets. To think we paid a cleaning fee and were been given a property that hasn’t been cleaned in quite some time is the most disappointing part of this.

Mini Vacation
This house was perfect for two families of four. It is walking distance to some beautiful trails, one with a waterfall. There were no issues with neighbors. It wasn’t the most clean or updated house but it was good enough for us and we had a wonderful time! Other reviews complained about the WiFi but it worked just fine for us.

Thus property is beautiful and somewhat close to the attractions. We enjoyed our stay. The only down side was the pots and pans with food on them. I always wash dishes before I use them however the dried on food was very surprising.

Fun Family Trip
This property was not only spacious enough for 4 adults and 4 kids, but it is in the perfect location. A short walk down the road to Lake Nolin, where all 4 kids caught fish, and close drive to Mammoth Cave, Diamond Cavern, and other excursions. The house was clean and kitchens well-equipped for a large group. We will definitely look into booking again.

We had a awesome week just winging it! We had 5 grandkids (all teens), our son and my husband and me. The owner was very considerate of any of our needs. This home is very close to amenities but not in tourist areas but can go about 30 min to most things. We also seen deer right in the back yard. It is a beautiful place. If you needed to use a washer/dryer just know this is not included but we did ask and was able to have access of using them. The only thing that isn’t a perfect rating is this home could be cleaner as we came across a lot of things not done so well and for the price I believe it could be better.

Super cute and clean house!
Exactly like the pictures. Super cute and clean house! 4 spacious bedrooms, 2 on the main level and 2 downstairs, and 2 kitchens. If visiting Mammoth Cave then it's about 40mins per the GPS route, but the owner gave us info on a short cut which cut what GPS told us in about half! Do know that service is VERY spotty in this entire region, so don't expect much service.

Cottage in the woods
We had a wonderful long weekend in the cottage. We had 2 families with little ones and everything was great! The screened in porch was so nice. We enjoyed the fire pit and watched the deer in the distance. Thank you for having us.

We had a wonderful stay! I only rated the cleanliness as a 4 because the outside grill was very greasy and we wasn't able to cook on it. Also we had a trailer and the driveway was somewhat difficult to access with a trailer due to if being steep. Overall we had a great time and communication with the property manager was wonderful!

Great place for a long weekend at the lake!
This house is literally just 2 minutes from Lake Nolin boat ramp and beach. Not far from the caves and other attractions as well. Family of 7 had plenty of room. Beds were comfy, bedding was nice. The back porch was awesome for hanging out, the two levels gave the kids a "private" place to hang out. The kitchen was very well equipped with most every kitchen item you would/could want! My only complaint is that the house could have been a little cleaner. Surface level it looked good, just needs a deep clean. I would definitely stay here again!

The house was perfect for our trip. Large gathering space for 6 adults and a teenager, spacious bedrooms, nice kitchen, and a great fire pit. Practically next door to Nolan Lake hiking trails. We had a great time!

The size of the house was great, 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths! As others mentioned in their comments, the home could use some updating. The owner was very quick to respond to our questions prior to checkin and during our stay. I would book here again if we decide to tour more caves.

This property was perfect! We stayed in the upstairs quarters and our friends stayed in the downstairs area. We each had our own private baths and kitchen areas. We were able to spend time together in the beautiful screened-in porch and used the gas grill every night. We are definitely looking forward to coming back and staying at the Cottages at Brier Creek!

Our group loved the space. Even though it rained, we were all able to have plenty of space to hang out. The covered deck was great as well as the two living spaces. Because of the rain we didn't get to light a fire outside but we were able to gather at the picnic table (outside) during the mornings for coffee while we watched the deer across the field. There is an acorn tree close the the house and acorns would fall pretty often and hit our cars & windshields. We moved our cars back a little so this wasn't a problem for long.

Multi family stay!
We appreciate the ease of multi family in this home with two levels and two kitchens it worked out perfectly, we could have our own space but also have room to be all together as well. Due to the homes location there were bugs in and around the home, but not bothersome as we expected this being tucked in the woods. We loved the screened in porch on the back. A little cleaning up around the exterior and inside the screened in porch would be appreciated I think by guests, again not a problem but just felt a bit overlooked-overgrown etc. compared to how nice the inside of the home was. Loved the area and nolin state park and a beach and adventure hiking trails being so close. It is about 40 minutes to the nearest full blown grocery store (walmart) as it's located in a rural area with some small little mom and pop grocery shops and a dollar general here and there. Our trip was based around visiting mammoth cave which is also about a 35 minute drive from this home. Check in and out very simple as well as communicating with the host of this property. We would stay again.

We stayed here with 4 adults and 5 kids and one dog. The kids liked the lower floor for their enjoyment. The adults were happy to let them have it. The screened in porch and fire pit was very nice and rustic. The house is nice, but needs updated furniture. Same with the grounds. Nice location if going to Nolan State Park. It takes at least 45 minutes to get to the caves. The Blue Holler Cafe is a good restaurant just a few minutes away. This home is not fancy, but it’s good for a few days. If you see any rips or tears on anything, best to inform owner right away or you’ll be paying for it.

Was a good location. Close to swimming area at Nolin State Park, Mammoth Caves, Horseback riding, etc. The 2 living areas worked well for our extended family of 6 adults and 3 children. We really enjoyed the screened in back porch and the fire pit.

Family gathering in a quite place.
This house is located in the mountains within walking distance to Nolin State park with very little cell service. Visiting Kentucky, we often stay with Friends or family. This time we decided to stay in our own place. We picked this place because of its location in the state park. We rented the whole house for 5 days. I was careless when looking at the posting, not noticing that Laundry facilities were not mentioned in the list of amenities. We had to contact the owner for access to more towels. Enough towels were provided for the amount of people listed in the rental agreement. Although, we were lacking in rags and hand towels.I am very glad we rented the whole house. This place is a country house, so we can hear everything that goes on in the other bedrooms. I would feel awkward if there was another family having a conversation in the room below me that I can hear. My husband is 'Mr. Fix it' , and he can't really help himself, so he managed to fix the patio chair that was broken. We got the place because we didn’t want to stay with friends and family this time. They came to visit us at this cabin. All 25 of us had enough room to sit around the patio and chat. We had a good time cooking on the gas grill on site, then ended the night with a nice roasting of marshmallows around the campfire while the kids, (and the adults acting like kids) catching lightning bugs. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. It has all the basics we needed for a glorified camping trip in the woods, complete with a resident bunny who lives under the patio, and a fox nearby. We also got the pleasure of seeing a few deer. Overall, if I was to tell someone else who plans on staying here, I would make sure they are aware that this place normally do not allow the guests to use the laundry facilities on site.

This worked great for the 5 of us on our annual "girls trip". There could be a little more "sprucing" up of the outdoor areas. The inside of the house was not sparkling clean, but not all that dirty. Found some candy pieces on the floor under the bed, a mans shirt and pants in a closet and there were tiny spiders in the downstairs bathroom - not the obnoxious, scary kind. Maybe clean a bit better and spray some bug spray throughout the house and the screened in porch. We had a wonderful time and bought firewood and enjoyed the fire pit out front. Highly recommend The Blue Holler Cafe for dinner! It's not very far away and the owner and staff are gems!

Nolan Lake Cabin
Our group were mostly elderly folks, so we were amazed and thankful for the level entrance----NO ENTRANCE STEPS AT ALL !!! It was a very comfortable and charming cabin for our short stay. Several stores were nearby and Leitchfield was actually not far away. Having the two floors for our group of four was a bonus for extra privacy. We enjoyed our stay very much.

My son and I were the first of my family to arrive to this cabin it was more than I expected. We stayed a couple of days going to the lake fishing before the rest of the family came very relaxing sitting on porch swing and enjoying the nature that surrounded this house. Saturday the rest of the family came nine of us all together there was plenty of room and the kitchen were great. The beds were comfortable it was a great experience thank you so much looking foward to doing it again

Spring Break vacation at Mammoth Cave National Park
The house was a perfect set up for our family of 5. We had both the upstairs and downstairs. There was some minor communication problems, but the owner was quick to respond and resolve the issue. The property is quiet, spacious and beautiful.
