Nestled on a quiet road with Bourne Brook flowing through your backyard, this classic Vermont home is just 100 yards from the Lye Brook Falls Trail and Appalachian Trail. Savor breathtaking Green Mountain views in a serene, private setting, only two miles from downtown Manchester, five miles from the Dorset Summer Festival and Bromley Mountain Ski Resort, and a short 20-minute drive to Stratton and Magic Mountains.
This spacious retreat overlooks Bourne Brook and comfortably hosts up to 12 guests, featuring a large kitchen, great room with a gas fired stove, and a living room with a wood burning fireplace makes this home perfect for multi-family gatherings. The first floor boasts a master bedroom with a private deck and full bath, plus a second bedroom ideal for kids, featuring a full-size bed and bunk beds. Upstairs features another king bedroom with a sofa bed, two queen bedrooms, and a full bath. Relax on the expansive deck, or patio with a firepit, and enjoy the views of Equinox Mountain during warm summer evenings or cozy up by the wood-burning fireplace in the inviting, pine-walled living room on chilly winter nights. The great room, warmed by a Vermont Castings gas stove, offers a 65-inch TV and dining area, while a pool table awaits in an unheated upstairs room and a ping pong table in the basement. Experience ultimate privacy with the tranquil sounds of Bourne Brook and abundant wildlife in the neighborhood. Take a short stroll to Bourne Brook Falls to dip your toes in refreshing waterfall pools, or hike the nearby Lye Brook Falls Trail. Just five minutes from Manchester’s dining and shops, 5 minutes to Equinox Hotel, 15 minutes from the Vermont Horse Show and Summer Festival, and steps from Lye Brook Trail for direct hiking access. Great Stay and location

This place is in great location, close proximity to town and many things to do. The location is remote enough to have privacy. It set close to a creek, so you have a nice white noise of running river in the background. The place is clean and well equipped for stay. It is a typical cabin, with all the necessary amenities and plenty of space for family and friends to stay. The bedrooms are generous in size and comfortable.

Location is great for access to Stratton & Bromley. Still convenient for Killington. Very quick to shipping and restaurants in Manchester. Some of the kitchen appliances were dated or challenging to use (toaster, oven). Kitchen floor very squeaky near the fridge.Showering required one at a time and no washing machine for enough hot water.Sufficient room for having guests for dinner or for gathering.

Spacious house and accommodating hosts!

We had a great time at this Manchester home. It was clean and comfortable, with loads of things for us all to do. Really feels like vacation! George was super responsive and answered our questions speedily throughout our stay. We loved the brook and made good use of it! Great place to stay, summer or winter!

Horse show getaway

Lovely location, so close to the horse show and the town of Manchester which has so much to offer. Located on a nice quiet road we enjoyed walking to the river and the hiking after the show, views are amazing. House offers all you need in a home away from home, the back deck has a fantastic view of the river. Very happy, would recommend.

Better than imagined

We were all thrilled with this property. It is out of the way and nice and quiet. It has lots of room and if you like the outdoors there are lots of options. We had a fly fisherman, hikers and a 4 year old grandson that loved that river! Yet it is not far from town if you like the better things in life. Orvis museum and store were amazing and there is a beautiful golf course.

Great Location and Perfect for our trip

George’s house was fantastic and everything that we hoped for. It is a fantastic location near Manchester, and is located on a very scenic private and quiet road. Amenities were fantastic, we had lots of fun playing ping pong, pool and using the outdoor grill. Sleeping arrangements were excellent, everything was super clean as well. Check in and check out was very easy, this was a perfect fall getaway for the weekend. Would highly recommend this house and might need to come back for a ski weekend soon!

This rental home was spacious with plenty of activities. The location to the river and the Lyle Falls trail was perfect. For us city dwellers, the internet wasn't what we were used to so we had to hear complaints from the teens but was a minor inconvenience that comes with the beautiful location.

Cozy and Well Located

We stayed for over a month. This location can’t be beat! Everything you need is five minutes away but the house felt secluded and private. Listening to the brook on the porch at night was wonderful. We loved the private swimming hole too. With all the rain the path to get there was a little difficult but well worth it. Very clean and good amenities. Owners were very responsive.

Safe Haven

From the beginning our host George went above and beyond to help me secure the lodge for May arriving team of restorative practitioners who were arriving from varied domestic and international locations. This assistance was essential. And my team members arrived before me and sent messages of “this is unbelievable, wait til you get here and see where we are!!” And the falls and nearby swimming hole I would drive two hours just to spend the day there in the pristine and rapidly flowing waters. I can not recommend staying here enough if you are at all feeling like this space fits what you are looking for. I did and it exceeded expectations! Thank you to the DeVine family.
