“Het hotel heeft geen lift! Er is veel achterstallig onderhoud, diverse zaken werken niet, bv. airconditioning, warmwatervoorziening, waaiers, lekkende douchecabines. De ligbedden bij het zwembad bestaan deels uit verrot hout, hetgeen gevaarlijk is. De financiële afrekening gebeurt nog op 19e eeuwse wijze (losse bonnetjes, een rekenmachientje) en de receptionisten spreken zeer slecht Engels. Kortom: een upgrade is dringend nodig.”

“As an economy hotel you get what you pay for, Cinnamon Villa and sister hotel Kings Bay, which is part of the complex, was more than adequate. Improving the bathrooms shower facilities however would have made it very good”

“Waterland is a small resort of around 5 individual villas on the banks of a river. We stayed in Elephant villa which has a small, private pool and decking area. We loved the indoor/ outdoor bathroom with fish! The area is quiet and great for just sitting and watching the wildlife. Food is eaten in a small restaurant and although choice is limited, the quality was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. Slight downsides... The resort is really tucked away ,so be sure your taxi driver knows……

“Ok - where do I start! The “rooms” where not ready when we arrived- no one was expecting us in fact, I spoke to the lovely lady who owned the place and she explained that her rooms where usually pay by the hour (ugh). We had no choice but to stay here - one of the rooms had no lock and another had no bed! This was soon rectified but not to a satisfaction we would expect. There where no televisions in the rooms, no fridges (not even a plug socket!) one room didn’t even have bedding!……
