“The rooms were very comfortable (best sleep we had on our trip to Costa Rica) and we loved the pool, the beach, the sunsets, and the star gazing at night. We were there with our family. It is a bit remote so good idea to bring games and snacks if traveling with kids. The restaurant on the premise is expensive but serves creative dishes by a Michelin star chef using local ingredients.”

“Good A/C, nice sized room. Appreciated the "larger" mini frudge and coffee maker in the room. Very helpful woth local resources and advice on best travel routes. Got to see a mother howler monkey nursing her baby in the tree just adjacent to the room. Room walls are concrete, so couldn't hear anything from adjacent rooms. Much more serene atmosphere than the hectic pace and crowds in Nosara and Guiones beach areas. Would definitely stay again. Thank you, Louie for wonderful hospitality.”

“Tony was so helpful and newly renovated super clean and very spacious and have kitchen but no stove . Better to have stove but otherwise everything is goods close to beach and other stores. We stayed 4 days and Tony help a lot for anything. Will book again if we go.”

“I tried to do a lot of research to see best places for staying on the ocean. I like to swim and snorkel. The ocean was pretty but only a very small section was available for swimming and that area had pretty big waves. The rest of the resort was terrific! Just don’t go if you are avid beach and ocean lover.”

“We had an excellent time at the Mikado. It was our first time to Costa Rica and it was probably one of our best holidays. Such a fun adventure. Lolo was an excellent host and if you do stay you must take advantage of her dinners. Incredibly romantic. The location is perfect. Quick drives to Tamarindo, Playa Avellanas and Playa Conchal. Great places to explore and then return to the peace and tranquility of the lodge. Absolutely perfect. ”

“The Sunset Shack was fantastic for our family trip to Nosara. The beach is super close, and the town is very cute. We were right in the middle of it all. Monkeys in the mango trees on the property in the morning, and iguanas roaming all day. The food, the staff, and the hotel itself were all 5 stars! We would love to return to Nosara, and would not stay anywhere else. Thank you Sunset Shack!”

“This is a great boutique hotel for someone looking for a reclusive and quite stay. It is located in the mountains with gorgeous views. Fyi. The standard room only has one queen size bed. If you're traveling with friends, it is best to book separate rooms unless you want to share a bed. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. We are so glad to have chosen LADE.”

“Fantastic place, amazingly well managed, and wonderful staff. Intimate, all staff were amazing. We felt so well taken care of. Every detail was thought through. The place is a 2 min walk to the ocean through a beautiful forest, straight from the property- we were going in and out in swim suits. The beach is fantastic, for surfers especially. Highly recommend!”
