The food is terrible, i paid for all inclusive for 8 days and every day breakfast , Lunch and dinner was the exact same. I expected more sea food options but that was not the case. There was grilled fish or calamari but poorly cooked, However the people were amazing.

Great. Beware of the tide

L'endroit est bien entretenu, en bonne condition. Le personnel est très sympathique et dévoué. Il ne faut pas y aller pour la plage. Les marées rendent la baignade difficile. Le mieux est d'aller sur la jetée pour profiter de l'océan.

Very good hotel (with some trade-offs)

This hotel was very good. I really enjoyed my stay. The service was pretty good including the reception attendants, bartenders, and waiters. The breakfast was also tasty with a wide selection. The biggest issue is the location. It is far from the touristy areas and the beach is covered in algae and is very shallow. But honestly, I didn't mind saving money on this hotel and spending more on transport and excursions. I went to Prison Island and there was a beautiful beach there plus the free shuttle bus took me to a really nice beach ten minutes away. I did have a small issue with my bed, but it was fixed literally the next day. I highly recommend this place especially if you don't mind the distance from Stone Town (40 min away). If you're doing a shorter trip, you might want to stay someplace more conveniently located.

This was a nice resort on Zanzibar. The facilities were certainly good for East African standards. This is actually two resorts (soon to be three) combined. The reception is actually on the side called "Paradise Bay Resort," but you have full access to both sides. The pool shown in the picture is in Zanzibar Bay Resort, and is more relaxing (and shallower) than the one on the other side. The Paradise Bay one is blue, and has a 3 meter deep portion. It is also has more trees blocking the view of the ocean. The beach is not very good here. Due to the bay, it is full of seaweed, and the tide comes in close to the wall. Smartly, they have a free shuttle to another piece of beach up the coast, which is beautiful. It was much quieter and cheaper on their main facility. If you are there for long, I recommend getting on the free shuttle and spending every day at the other beach. Massages there were super cheap, and they had food and drinks (not included, if you are "all inclusive", but we awere a la carte). The staff was nice and very professional. You pay for everything using your room number/wrist band and signature. I did have one instance of a staff member offering to give me free drinks in exchange for paying cash for the rest of the bill, but that can happen at any resort, not just in East Africa. I hope the Dutch owners pay their people enough to make up for the fact that it is very inconvenient to tip them. We would have liked more local food at the a la carte restaurant.
