"The room was clean but there was some smoke smell. It was great that there was a balcony with a window. The gym was ok with the free weights. The tv in the gym and the elliptical machine did not work well."

"This was a good nights sleep but on an old mattress. Carpets are old and as such, are hard to clean well. Bring slippers. The bathroom was spotless and so that made for a pleasant experience. The restaurant looked good but we had other plans. Parking was very convenient – right in front of the unit. A/C was not needed but the heating worked well and quietly."

"What a wonderful place ! Absolutely everything you would need. Definitely bring all your provisions it is secluded as advertised so a bit of a drive to pick up groceries etc but we had read previous reviews and were prepared. There was a little bit of property damage as we came just after the state of emergency in September 2026, but the property owners made us aware and the property was fixed up almost immediately after we arrived. What a beautiful beach, amazing rocks …we swam in the lake ( just after Labour Day)and walked the picturesque beach .The walk to the beach from the home maymaybe be a little bit challenging for people with mobility issues but manageable even when wet if you take your time.We would love to return next year."

"Absolutely wonderful property located centrally on the island. Gorgeous sunset views and quiet peaceful nights. It was so quiet we could hear the bees collecting pollen by from the deck. The house is extremely well equipped in the kitchen, especially! Everything you need except sheet pans. It's just like being at home. Beds were very comfortable. Also easily the cleanest property I've ever visited! Communication with the host was superb. The drive up the driveway does require a confident driver or a vehicle with all-wheel drive or maybe four-wheel drive, but it's completely worth it. The location is excellent! Bonus attraction was the squadron of hummingbirds visiting the feeder every morning, the host even supplied extra sugar water for refills! You won't be disappointed, we sure weren't!"

"Even better than described. Beautifully decorated & great view on the lake. Very relaxing & private patio. All you need for a great getaway! Nice place to come back to after a long drive to scenic places on either side of Cape Breton. Thanks Alexandra for building such a place. :)"
