Fun little spot. Host was wonderful and very attentive. Nice little house in the middle of a working farm and just up the hill from a fishing hole! Couldn’t have asked for more.
Andrew and I couldn't possibly be handled better under loss of power. Quickly we had lights and A/C, fruit from the garden, bacon, and eggs. Loved the cows just on the other side of the fence. We'll be back.
We stopped here for a few days before our final vacation destination. This was such a wonderful place to stay for our family. Our four boys loved catching fish, playing outside, and just being away from the city. Our hosts were tremendous! We hope to stay here again for a few extra days.
What a cool place to get away from “real life” and just kick back, relax, and breathe deeply. Everywhere you look there is something different. A lake, cows, sheep, rabbits, pigs etc. We did not take a formal tour this time, but will next time. The hosts are so available, and so open and friendly. Top notch service.
The owners are working on upgrading their two boats and this is the only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. I love the place and will be going back for sure.
We love Melody’s Acres BnB, away from city lights and noise. This is our 4th stay, hunting for stars, galaxies and nebulae in the dark skies of Crockett, TX
Perfect for stargazers in Houston area, the cabin is equipped with all you need but you also have good options for dinner 15 minutes away, Lindo Guanajuato is very close and have best street tacos and enchiladas verdes.
This wonderful little place is such a jewel. Secluded yet close to essentials. This wonderful place is on a working farm and has animals all around. We did not try the fishing, as it was rainy, but everything else was wonderful. The tour was eye opening and fun. We will be returning during spring/summer to try the fishing!

A breath of fresh air!!!
What an awesome place to escape the city and get to experience country living. From the fresh farm eggs, to the beautiful lake, or the awesome country starry nights, our time at Melody Acres was one to remember. Our kids had a blast seeing farm animals, including getting to hold 2 newborn lambs. We loved fishing at the lake on the property, and the house was just right for our family. Patti really went above and beyond to make our family feel at home. We will definitely be coming back.
Our 2 day stay at Melody's Bed and Breakfast was such a wonderful and unique experience. Patti and Issa were marvelous hosts and so graciously gave us a very informative tour of the farm. Our granddaughters enjoyed seeing all of the animals as well as petting a pig.Patti shared some of their farm-fresh eggs and peach jam that she had made. They are both 'masters' of hospitality! The cabin has two bedrooms with two queen beds in each, and two baths. The kitchen is well stocked and has a dishwasher. The entire place is roomy and is very nice for a family. This is an older cabin so has the look and feel of a 70s-80s home. The sofa needs to be replaced, but the house is very comfortable. We are hoping to be regular guests each year when our family reunion meets nearby. Our visit there was a delightful experience, and we highly recommend it.Thank you Patti and Issa!!!

Awesome Getaway with a Great Host
My kids and I stayed here for 2-nights with friends, who also have kids. It's our first time share a cabin with friends, let alone inside a "working" ranch, so we were not sure what to expect going in. But once get in touch with the host, Ms. Patti, the whole thing started and end up to be the awesome mini-vacation we all had in a long time. Without going into too much details, I'm going to say, the place is as advertised. The kitchen is fully stocked, the close-encounters with the farm animals are awesome (even with the smell :-), the eggs & the fresh veggies were amazing (best radish per my friend), and the beef was super tender and succulent. We had best tasted steak, even with our amateur BBQ skills! The whole time the host was very attentive and patient, even though I'm sure they are not short of to-do list from their farm-work :-) but everyone loved talking to them, & we all had dinner together at the patio in the cabin the last night. Ms. Patti is the smartest and most hard-working people I am privileged to meet, and thank you for make the whole getaway such a memorable experiment. Lastly, as someone who never been to the area, I learned East Texas is beautiful with the tall trees and the meandering country road (very clean). Our group also loved the day-trip to the adjacent forest park. It has beautiful trail, & the lake seems nice enough to deserve a visit back during summer :-)
Our family loves hiking, fishing and farm animals, so as soon as I saw this property, I couldn't get it out of my head.
And I'm so glad we picked it! We have two kids and stayed for three nights. The first night we fished for crappie (caught a few off the dock!) and grilled fajitas. The second day we hiked around the beautiful Mission Tejas State Park, saw forests, found the oldest tree in the park and El Camino Real from the 1600's, and my daughter loved the playground and the old church. Our third day we got to tour the farm, and we all loved seeing the animals and learning more about all the trees, puppies, greenhouses, pigs, sheep and everything out there. My son was amazed at the lemon tree. My daughter wanted to stay longer! We fished for bass off the dock and all caught at least one! My husband caught a 5 pound bass! We enjoyed some beef hamburgers and honey from the farm. We are thankful to have found a place where our children can learn a little more about how animals are raised, how food is grown, and what it feels like to reel in a fish! The setting is amazingly peaceful. The house is not modern, in fact I think my grandma had the exact same cabinet fixtures, oven, stove, and bathroom counters. Pulling those cabinets open was a sweet nostalgic moment for me. We loved eating meals on the porch. The change of scenery and beautiful trees was just what we were looking for.
Perfect site for stargazers and astrophotography, secluded cabin with minimum light pollution from large cities, yet close enough to Houston, TX so travel is rather short. Cabin is clean and cozy, quiet away from road noise. I captured Eagle Nebula and Omega Nebula images with my camera and telescope, amazing!
Bring your telescope or binoculars to enjoy a starry night in safe quiet place.
Very peaceful environment w/ beautiful scenery (just what we were looking for). Our adult daughter is handicapped; however, she was at least able to walk over to see the calves across the drive from the house (she can only walk for short distances) & watch the cows in the field from the screened porch (she loved swinging on the porch while enjoying the view). A goose family kept us company while fishing :) Hosts are very friendly and accommodating!! Beds are very comfortable. The only downside was that livingroom furniture is somewhat worn. Overall- very relaxing! :) Definitely would recommend!
Our family had a great time spending spring break at the farm. Kids got to feed cows, collect chicken eggs, and fish. Very relaxing place to get away from the city.
Great experience. Clean, well appointed and comfortable. Hosts were exceptional. Extras such as farm fresh eggs, vegetables and home grown beef. Fishing on the private lake was second to none. Will definitely be returning.
My family and I needed a getaway & we are so happy we found this place! It was so beautiful & quiet! It was amazing to see the stars at night! My husband & son loved going out on the boats to fish! Patricia & Yurri were AMAZING! Fresh farm eggs and sausage waiting for us when we arrive made it perfect for breakfast on our first morning!! We got to get a tour of the farm & try different things out of their garden! My son hasn’t tried that many fruits or veggies...EVER! We purchased fresh steak and pork chops from them & they were AMAZING!!! We can not wait to go back again!! Lots of room and the screened in porch was a great way to listen to the rain and get the breeze without getting wet! Thank you so much for treating us like family!
My husband, kids and I stayed here two nights and enjoyed our time away from the hustle and bustle. We had a great relaxing time, but still had plenty to do and see on this working farm. The owners were very accommodating and sweet people! Can’t wait to plan our trip back here!
City folk visit the country- Amazingly wonderful time!
Ran across Melody’s Bed & Catch Your Breakfast while searching for alternative to boring hotel accommodations for a family Polar Express train ride in Palestine TX. Myself, wife, daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids (2.5 and 5.5 years) arrived Saturday evening. The two BR house was perfect for us. Exceptionally clean. Ms. Patricia dropped by some free range chicken eggs and filled us in on farm operation and a little of her history. Everything we needed was in the house.
After Polar Express on Sunday Ms. Patricia and Isauro showed the grandkids cows, goats, pigs and piglets (1 week old), garden and told us about fishing in lake. Isauro showed the boys the farm tractor and equipment. Firewood was already by the fire pit, we built a fire and introduced the boys to S’mores.
We had a terrific learning experience by the most kind and generous couple.
We will definitely go back in the Spring and will continue to build family memories here.
