It was very nicely decorated and comfortable with ‘little extras’ provided to leave guests want for nothing. Roger and Claus went above and beyond. Such friendly and hospitable hosts. The property is located in a very quiet suburban neighbourhood. The nearest towns are easy to access and have all you need for shopping needs. In these towns you can catch trains into Cologne. Very convenient. We highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet, unique, and lovingly cared for accommodation, to stay at the Water Tower house. It is not an ideal place for anyone with mobility issues due to the number of stairs, but everyone else will enjoy it immensely. Thank you Roger and Claus. We’d love to come back."

"Beautiful hotel, which had a huge flood disaster back in 2021, they have done amazingly well to rebuild from. Only issue is, they have a staffing problem in the evenings at the moment so cant provide a dinner service, they did put on a free snack buffet, but we needed more so drove 3 minutes to the neighbouring town to get some dinner. Otherwise a great hotel. With a selection of treats and fruit available all day."

"We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Balthasar Neumann. They worked with us to address an issue with our ability to check in during the standard hours. The family rooms that we had were wonderfully large and comfortable -- I actually regret not having more time in the room! The area around the hotel has many pedestrian-focused streets and available cafes etc. The station is about a 15 minute from the station without luggage -- allow a little longer if you are pulling bags along the brick sidewalks and roads."
