"We stayed one week at the Riu Palace with family and friends and overall had a great experience. I shared a swim-up pool room with my girlfriend, and the biggest standout was the cleanliness. This was honestly one of the cleanest resorts I’ve ever stayed at 5/5. Staff constantly cleaned. The food was another huge highlight. I’m normally not a buffet person, but the buffet here was excellent — some of the best resort food I’ve had. Family and friends enjoyed the specialty restaurants too. Food gets another 5/5.
The value for the money was definitely worth it, especially with access to the Santa Fe and Baja California resorts.
Customer service 3.8/5 was mostly good, but communication could sometimes be difficult because limited staff spoke enough English to assist with questions. The resort is also very large, and the maps could definitely be improved because elevators and floors were confusing at first.
The biggest downside was the Wi-Fi. It was unreliable throughout the Palace resort, making remote work nearly impossible and draining phone batteries.
As for entertainment, the resort becomes very quiet at night. I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, but my girlfriend wished there were more adult-oriented evening activities. Many late-night shows focused on children’s entertainment, while themed parties were geared toward a younger crowd.
Overall, I would absolutely return for the amazing food, cleanliness, relaxing atmosphere, and overall value.
