"We stayed one week at the Riu Palace with family and friends and overall had a great experience. I shared a swim-up pool room with my girlfriend, and the biggest standout was the cleanliness. This was honestly one of the cleanest resorts I’ve ever stayed at 5/5. Staff constantly cleaned. The food was another huge highlight. I’m normally not a buffet person, but the buffet here was excellent — some of the best resort food I’ve had. Family and friends enjoyed the specialty restaurants too. Food gets another 5/5. The value for the money was definitely worth it, especially with access to the Santa Fe and Baja California resorts. Customer service 3.8/5 was mostly good, but communication could sometimes be difficult because limited staff spoke enough English to assist with questions. The resort is also very large, and the maps could definitely be improved because elevators and floors were confusing at first. The biggest downside was the Wi-Fi. It was unreliable throughout the Palace resort, making remote work nearly impossible and draining phone batteries. As for entertainment, the resort becomes very quiet at night. I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, but my girlfriend wished there were more adult-oriented evening activities. Many late-night shows focused on children’s entertainment, while themed parties were geared toward a younger crowd. Overall, I would absolutely return for the amazing food, cleanliness, relaxing atmosphere, and overall value. "

"Staff always helpful and got upgraded to a beachfront suite. Bigger bathroom, bigger bedroom and amazing 180 ocean view!! Right on the beach and walking distant to all the restaurants and stores. Never needed a car rental."

"When checking in be patient as there are slow, be aware that their beds are not the most comfortable, their matresses are too soft and seem to need new ones, also we were not able to figure out how their tv system works, it was difficult and confusing. The room was noisy. "

"The amenities would have gotten higher marks except that our favorite pool (Pool 40 next to Tazuna) was closed, along with pool 26, both closed for the entire month of May. The Fun Lab was also closed but we didn't have any teens with us so that didn't bother us, but I would have been disappointed had I planned on using that. On the plus side, we learned that we like Pool 17 and despite 2 of the pools being closed, Pool 17, the Main Pool and the SKy Pool were not overly crowded. The staff were very attentive and wonderful. Shout out to the amazing server extraordinaire: Roberto! He was fantastic. In general, staff would also have gotten higher marks if they had been trained on how to handle an extremely inebriated guest poolside. Instead, we watched a passed out guest on a lounge chair and on the ground wollow for hours as he dry heaved semi-consciously while staff figured out what to do. It was sad to watch his 3 children cry, his wife kick him trying to wake him up, and the general confusion about how to deal with it all by the staff. The wife refused medical help. It was a "buzz Kill" for us watching and I wish the staff could have removed him from the area much earlier. They did finally wheel him out. There should be staff proticol to deal with this sort of thing. We have been to this resort many times and never witnessed such an event. Overall, the food was excellent and the drinks were cold. Plus, the view can't be beat and rooms were quiet."
