  • This place is right behind the James L Knight Center, right between the Brickell Avenue and the S.E. 2nd Avenue bridge. I was on the North side of the Miami River pointing my camera South East. I found plenty of parking for a reasonable price. Best time if you want lots of action would be Friday or Saturday night. For a more desolate nights I would recommend Monday thru Thursday night. Here you will find an incredible amount of photography opportunities to shoot for. While like any big city you will find a few homeless folks, the place was very clean and very well kept. Lots of new, very tall buildings have made the Miami landscape a very popular site for photography!

This place does not look like the pictures! I booked one night on February 15, 2026 just to rest after an event, and the experience was completely unacceptable. Room D102 was extremely hot, the ceiling fan did not work. Upon arrival I was told the A/C is centrally controlled and shared with other guests — something that was never disclosed when booking. It was unbearable to rest due to the heat alone, regardless of all the other poor conditions. The property is very old and poorly maintained — rust in the bathroom, loud squeaky floors in the room and no basic hotel essentials provided. There were no toiletries at all — you must bring your own items — which was also not disclosed in the listing. I went to reception multiple times, maintenance never showed up, and I requested to speak with a manager but never received a response. There was no effort to resolve the issue or offer another room. I chose not to stay. Expedia agreed to issue a refund if the hotel approved it, but the hotel denied it. I have videos documenting the conditions and will be providing them to my bank to dispute the charge. Extremely disappointing, poor customer service and lack of transparency.

The grounds and courtyard are beautiful with lots of lush foliage and trees. The rooms are clean but need a few things like a bath mat, cups, hand towels, television, coffee maker and maybe some pictures on the walls would be nice. Also no coffee available anywhere on the property. Restaurant is not opened at all on Sunday. The staff was very nice. I think with just a few improvements this hotel could be a very nice boutique hotel with lots of old Miami history.
