Laura, I'm sorry you had difficulty finding our registration, but we take special care with all of our booking correspondence to indicate its location. The Inn is spread across three buildings and the building with the bar is less than a two minute walk from where you were staying. I'm sorry if this caused any confusion.

Jean - It was nice meeting you, your husband and your grandson. We like to warn our Gate House guests of its proximity to Rte, 7 and provide white noise machines in the rooms to help the light sleepers. On your next stay, may I suggest you consider a room in the Main House or the Carriage House. And I'm sorry if you did not fids your waitperson as welcoming as the rest of our staff. Thanks for your feedback. We have remodeled all of the bathrooms in the Main House and the Gate House and are making plans for the Carriage House. We're also working on redecorating and refreshing all of the rooms. It can be a slow process given how busy we are but if you hang with us, we promise the results will be worthwhile,

I'm sorry it can be hard to book - we're popular for a reason. Don't be discouraged. It's always a good idea to book early (and cancellations do occur).

Elizabeth, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry that you had an issue with the traffic noise. We are upfront in the Gate House room descriptions on both our website and this site and suggest to our more noise sensitive guests that they book in Main House or the Carriage House. We have equipped all of the Gate House rooms with white noise machines and we have found that this has solved the issue for most of our guests.

They are a small but dedicated crew who work hard to keep everything looking its best. I'm a little confused about your comments on breakfast. We have no fewer than five juice choices every day and abundant fresh fruit every day without fail. I apologize if this was not made clear to you by the breakfast staff.As for the local noise, there isn't a bar within a half a mile of the Inn. We are located up the hill from Rte 7 so there certainly is some ambient noise on the property, but none resembling your issue - or at least none that has been reported to staff.Again, thank you for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you back to Swift House Inn.

I'm glad parts of your stay worked out for you but sorry to hear about your air conditioning. Our front desk staff is trained at trouble shooting the AC (and all the other physical amenities of the room). By dialing "0" on the room phone day or night a member of staff is available to help, up to and including moving guests to another room. Unfortunately, I can only assume that you did not reach out to our front desk staff. As for the noise, we are nothing of not honest about the location of the rooms in the Gate House on the corner of Stewart Lane and Route 7 and potential noise. As a result, these rooms are a bit more economical than rooms in the Main House and the Carriage House but offer all of the same comforts amenities that guests have come to expect from Swift House Inn. In any event, I hope you will try us again. And a s a returning guest, you will automatically receive our returning guest discount.
