Beautiful Mountain Foothills Getaway

Our cabin was clean and tidy upon arrival. The propery managers were responsive anytime needed. We saw deer and wild turkeys roaming the neighborhood. It was lovely!

Comfort in the Mountains

Sheldon's way is a perfect mountain vacation retreat. Extremely clean and very comfortable. Kitchen is well supplied and modern. A wonderful place to relax after a day of hiking or exploring the mountain towns. Screened back porch and large side deck with charcoal grill are an added plus. We would certainly stay here again!

Relaxing!

Love going to this location, 2nd trip this year. So relaxing getting away from the big city! Feels like we are at home without our "honey do" list. Great that it is pet friendly.

Easy check in and emails were responded to in a timely manner. Pictures did not do the home justice. Home was spacious, clean, & secluded. Enjoyed sitting on the patio and porch listening to nature & watching the rain. Everything that we needed was right there in the home. I could not have asked for a better birthday.

NC Vacay

I loved this place, it was a very quiet peaceful place. Everything was so beautiful, so well organized. I so enjoyed being able to take my Golden Retreiver, Sadie with me. She loved watching the birds and the deer. I would definitely recommend this place to any family with pets!

Nice house and location

The only down side was that the listing indicates a king bed when in actuality there are 2 queens. Not usually a problem, but as I recently had arm surgery we specifically wanted the extra size/room. That was disappointing.

Great location in a quiet neighborhood. Great proximity to TIEC and lake lure. A lot of wild life to enjoy including deer and wild turkeys.

We loved our Christmas vacation at Sheldon’s Way!

My husband, daughter and I and my in-laws enjoyed a week long stay in Mill Spring and could not have loved it more. (Well only maybe if it snowed.) The house is better than the pictures show, the land/yard and neighborhood were lovely, and a fire in the fireplace every night topped it off. The house was fully stocked with all we would need (except groceries of course) and we loved the extras this property afforded. We could travel to what we wanted to do for the day within 30 minutes to an hour but the journey was everything - - amazing views through mountains and pathways to waterfalls and trail hikes. We would definitely come back - - summer or winter. Thanks to Carolina Properties for answering all of my e-mails timely and for providing a wonderful home away from home experience for our family this Christmas. Sheldon’s Way is a true gem.

Great family getaway

Spacious home tucked away in the hills near Lake Lure, NC. The quiet at this family getaway is deafening. Surrounded by porches on 3 sides you find great places to enjoy morning coffee, the deer, hummingbirds and wildlife that surround you. Valted ceiling family room, well equipped kitchen, and spacious bedrooms provide space for family meals, games, and personal quite time.

Nice but far from Lake Lure

Home was very comfortable and clean. The house feels relatively new and sits on a private lot. I agree with the previous review's issues. Also the home is at least 25 minutes from the property managers building (Carolina Properties) and 30 minutes from Lake Lure Beach. Some of the route is very curvy and can be difficult to follow at night.

Comfortable, but with some issues

This is a very nice home, but with a few issues that potential guests should be aware of. 1) Little to no toilet paper is provided - you are asked to bring your own, so be prepared. 2) Garbage bags and paper towels are not provided. Again, you must bring your own. 3) Well pumps and hot water heaters are turned off when you arrive, so especially if you are renting for a horse show, be prepared for a 30 minute wait upon arrival for the water to heat up to take a shower. 4) There is no garbage pick up in the neighborhood, so you are asked to haul your own garbage to the dump. 5) Property management indicated that the home is 15 minutes to Tryon International Equestrian Center. It is closer to 25-30 minutes. Other than these issues, the beds were comfy and the kitchen well stocked with utensils.
