“Pros: the beds are comfortable. Cons: The breakfast is overpriced for one with very limited choice. I guess it is because the customers don’t have much choice near the area. I would recommend sleep in nearby small town over this historical hotel. Historical means history and also old if not well maintained. The overall building is outdated. The air conditioning in our room needs a filter change, the bathroom is old, bathtub pealed off and hot water is just warm. The night shift staff is not……

“Friendly staff. Pool and hot tub are nice. Decent breakfast. Great location. Suite has separate sitting area with door to bedroom and two TVs - perfect for night owl / early bird couples. Walmart, food, gas, etc. in short proximity. Many dining options (Applebees, Ruby Tuesday, Chick Fil A, Burger King, Jersey Mikes, RC Pizza & Subs, Waffle House, and more) all within a couple minutes drive, a few even walkable. Devil's Backbone local brewery a few minutes drive.”

“The room was reasonably clean but the halls smelled of mildew. The staff as nice as could be but the breakfast was minimal.The location is terrific and the views lovely. All told, despite the limitations I would come again for the central location and the courtesy of the staff.”

“This property rates at the TOP of the list. Its as elegant as the Greenbriar and Homestead in terms of the property and rooms. It is stunning. Martha is a wonderful host and she is so elegant in her special touches....antiques, crystal, place settings, even in the room crystal glasses with little doilies on top with crystals weighted down. Magnificent Crystal Chandeliers. Historic touches everywhere. You will want to come back! ”
