It could be a great vacation (great view and location), unless something goes wrong-you are in trouble and will end up with a stressful mess on your hands. This was not a stress free vacation, as it should have been.
I believe we were one of the first guests to stay in this property with Real Joy as the Property Manager. They have some work to do, especially for what they are charging. I would not even be listing what went wrong if Real Joy would have handled everything timely and appropriately, but they did not by any means. I asked to speak to a manager several times, and to this day, have not been allowed to speak to one. I'm mainly writing this review because I want the actual owners of the property to be aware of the situation and how it was handled. I was also never allowed to speak with them either, which is understandable until everything goes wrong.
When you call the Real Joy phone number, you get basically a "Guest Services" call center team. It is impossible to get anyone else on the phone. They were sweet, and did their best, but they do not have any authority or power to actually fix the situation. I'll start with the biggest problem we had, and go from there.
1. The AC stopped working on the 2nd night. I called at 8:01 am Saturday morning and was assured someone would be out to fix it Asap. We called a few hours later (maybe noon) and was still assured someone was on the way. We called multiple times after that and the Agents kept telling us they would get an update and call us back-no one ever called back. I eventually called repeatedly around 5 pm and spent about 3 hours on the phone in a panic mode because we could not sleep another night with no AC (I called AC companies, VRBO, etc.) There were a few AC companies that could come out right away, but because we were renters they were not allowed. Around 8 pm someone finally showed up, and did a temporary fix to get us through our stay. He said the AC is failing and will just go out again. No one ever called us to check the next day, or check in. We had to eat out because it was too hot to cook all day (more $).
2. Twin mattresses are super thin, equivalent to a fold out mattress. We had to buy toppers.
3. Living Ceiling fan didn't work
4. I was told we could check in 4 hrs. early, once there-was told opposite and had to wait but no ETA.
5. Furniture weathered, stains on carpet, couch, towels,
I requested a one night refund, told it was approved, still hasn't shown up.
