The best way to summarize this property is to say it was unbelievably fantastic! The VRBO photos told the whole story. It was welcoming with charming decorations and colors, very comfortable sofa and beds, plenty of seating, and 2 bathrooms which were perfect for our 4 adults. There are some very steep steps going to the second bedroom on the third level, but they are manageable and definitely worth it.
The apartment was strategically located for all of our adventures. Parking was a little confusing at first but once we figured out that we could park wherever the parking lines (indicating individual spaces) were white, it became a lot easier. The spaces you want to avoid are any that are painted with blue lines.
About 3 minutes down the hill from the apartment (which is basically the first door on the right as you go up from the main street into the town, there is a wonderful produce store. Delightful women to help you, delicious huge green olives, and the most wonderful gigantic garlic you've ever seen called aglione. Continuing down the hill there is also a huge supermarket called Conad where you can find anything you need.
Then from the apartment you can wend your way up into the town with charming shops, stores for cheeses and meats, local coffee, beautiful art and leather, gorgeous views and wonderful restaurants. There is a very good one right across the street of the apartment called La Pasione. Excellent food. But the best was called Godimento Di Vino, Ristorante Enoteca where we had Florentine steaks and Entrecots that were the most phenomenal cuts of meat imaginable and perfectly cooked.
Silvia and Alessandro were great hosts, very accommodating and helpful.
Thank you both for sharing your wonderful home. We'd loved our stay.
