The apartment consists of:
• A bedroom with a very comfortable double bed.
• A living room/kitchen with an equipped kitchenette, induction cooktops, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, and kettle, a living area with an extendable table, an antique cupboard (which belonged to my great-great-grandparents), and a sofa bed (for one and a half people).
• A small bathroom with a shower, integrated WC, and corner sink with a small cabinet featuring shelves.
• The access door is sliding and quite small; a taller person will need to bend down. Inside, the bathroom, though small, has a relatively high ceiling.
Montepulciano is an exceptional base for exploring Tuscany. With its wineries, museums, art, music, and surrounding vineyards, the possibilities are endless. All the most iconic and interesting destinations are easily reachable, including UNESCO cities like Pienza, just 15 minutes away – the perfect city of Humanism, chosen by Ridley Scott as the setting for the final scene of Gladiator at the Elysian Fields.
From here, you can explore the picturesque landscapes of the Val d’Orcia, where painted-like scenes unfold with cypress-lined avenues and rolling hills. You can relax at the thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni or Bagni San Filippo, discover the medieval history and the extraordinary “Teatro Povero” in Monticchiello. Montepulciano is centrally located, also giving easy access to Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, and Perugia.
You can discover authentic Tuscany by visiting hidden gems such as Castelmuzio, Sant’Anna with its extraordinary refectory frescoed by Sodoma, immortalized in the film The English Patient, Trequanda and Montisi, panoramic ridge roads leading to the Cosona Castle, and charming forgotten villages like Vignoni Alto or Lucignano d’Asso. Every view reveals a new discovery
