The Pine Inn is in a great location central to the beach and to shopping and dining options. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience every time I stay here. From the rooms, the staff, the cleanliness of every area of the property, and its prime location. 10 out of 10!
Original hotel was built in 1890’s and was really well maintained as a historic landmark. Room was quite small for larger historic-style furniture. Staff was attentive, helpful and friendly. Italian restaurant in the hotel was very accessible for guests and food and service was very good!
Older, historic hotel with great service, a great location, a nice restaurant and is close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Carmel is lovely and is a very walkable. We had a room with a view, free parking and we enjoyed staying here. Hotel has not been updated in a long while and needs updating.
Nice old hotel. Very nice staff. No elevator. Small bedroom, smaller bathroom. Tub. Little water pressure. No mini refrigerator. No amenities. No hotel coffee, must wait until shops open. Limited parking.
The parking is great. The check in staff is great and friendly

Centrally located with many good eateries & shopping nearby plus 2 blocks to the ocean. Parking lot access. No elevator so three steep flights of stairs were challenging for us. Room was basic with worn furniture, old club chairs, king bed was moderately comfortable if you like a firm mattress.
Trash & delivery trucks start at 6am & go all day. We had nice ocean view.
Not a pet friendly lodging so we won’t be returning since we usually bring our small dog to Carmel.
We usually stay at Carmel Country Inn which is far superior in our opinion.
Beautiful lobby at a historic hotel. However, sensible moderations (e.g. bathroom, more outlets and firmer mattress) would enhance the balance of staying at a heritage hotel. The location was great, walking distance to everything.
While the staff was great and helpful, I feel like I lowkey got scammed because all the pictures from their website are very different from the actual room. The room had a picture of a ceiling fan but when we got to the room no ceiling fan. Had to call the front desk to bring us a regular floor fan. The bathroom door does shut because the door doesn’t fit the frame? I understand this place is a historic old time type of inn but at least have doors work properly. Still location was great close to the beach and restaurants. Also, parking was a big issue. Gave us a pass to park in their overnight lot, but it was always full. Seemed like people not staying at the hotel were parking in the lot without a pass.
The location is perfect - walkable to everything and just a couple of blocks from the beach. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had an ocean view room, which we loved listening to the waves at night with the window open. I only wish there was a coffee maker in the room rather than having to go out to the bakery downstairs to get coffee.

Not much to say about the property that’s great other than it’s located right on Ocean Ave next to everything Carmel has to offer.
