With the sudden increase in options when traveling abroad, thanks to the growing number of rental property apps, finding a place to stay can be daunting. I am happy to say that in my many (hopeful) future travels to Italy, I have found the place that I will call home. The photos tell no lies, the location is perfect, and the hosts are as gracious as they come. For me, the draw of renting from individuals vs. staying at hotels is that personal touch and the ability to really feel as though you live where you are staying. When done right, you really get to experience the “insiders” life, which to me is the only way to travel. Vista Italy hit right on the mark for all of the above.
Home: This home had all the amenities you need, or ever want for that matter, and made for the most smooth sailing stay. The house is stunning with spectacular views (I was finally able to experience a Tuscan sunset off of all of the many balconies... WOW) and the place was spotless. Beautifully furnished with room to spare. I appreciated the little stickers that Max had around the house so that we were never left wondering how things worked (ie the dishwasher, washer, lights etc) SO very thorough.
Location: We were just close enough to the major cities of Florence, Pisa, and Lucca yet just far enough away to appreciate the quaint towns of Volterra and San Gimignano among a few others. The house info packet gave us more than enough options for things to do and places to go eat, it was just like having our own hotel concierge. The one problem: SO much to do and so little time!
Hosts: I can't say enough about our host Max, who from the get-go exhibited sincere intentions on making sure we all had a pleasant stay. He was very responsive and it is obvious that he takes great pride in his property which I believe is reflected in how well he takes care of his guests.
I will definitely be recommending this place to all of my friends and family who ever plan on passing through Tuscany. A definite trip for the books. Thank you Vista Italy and the Conservas! Till next time!
