"The front of house staff were unfriendly, unhelpful and did not seem happy with their jobs. All became clear on checkout when I asked the new lady on reception who was the Manager. It turned out to be her and her band was EDWIGE. I asked to leave my luggage and was told that would be 4$. NEVER HAVE I EVER BEEN ASKED by a hotel that I have been staying in to pay for them holding luggage…. I asked on the first day for my bedside lamp to be sorted as it was not working. Two of the front desk said it would be done but it was not attended to. Both shower pressure and temperature needs attention, also lavatory flush. Each time I came down to reception there was another guest who had a problem/ complaint. The drinks case in the foyer only took coins and not credit cards. Reception had no coins. The manager was not interested in knowing about her complaints, in fact refused to give me her full name and hotel email so that I could document the problems I had experienced. I credit her behaviour with why the front of house staff are so depressed and lacking any charm. I don’t often write bad reviews bug this hotel needs to up its game."

"I booked this hotel because I was attending a conference on site and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. It has large, comfortable rooms and lovely gardens around the lobby level. It’s also a short walk from many main tourist spots and multiple public transit options. The only downside is that there can be a line to get on the elevators, which are pretty small, but they move quickly so I never waited for too long. All in all, I’d stay here again if I ever return to Montreal."

"The hotel is unique, not fancy but very nice and comfortable, has everything you need for a comfortable stay, breakfast is simple but good, and the staff (manager and receptionists) very kind and helpful, the process to check in was not easy for me, but I managed to enter the propperty ( at 2 AM) and ultimatelly to my assigned room. The only issue was that the cleaning staff were no actually cleaning the room, they just set the bed with the existing sheet and go, I stayed 11 days and they never cleaned the bathroom. I recomend this hotel and I would stay again, making sure they clean the room often enough."

"L’hôtel était bien situé malgré qu’il n’y avait pas beaucoup de restaurants autour. Le personnel était accueillant même si l’hôtel était très achalandé. Le restaurant de l’hôtel n’était pas fameux. La nourriture n’était pas à notre goût pour le prix."

"The room was clean, I couldn't get the Air conditioning to work, it simply would not come on. At night noise from rooms on either side comes through."

"the unit came with a 1/4 roll of toilet paper. we ran out after our first day. we asked for more toilet paper six different times on two different platforms. We were gone for the day and didn't come back until midnight. They never supplied more toilet paper and we had to find some very late at night. The communication was terrible. We searched the entire unit and only found a can of comet. The shared common area did not have spare toilet paper or paper towels or napkins available. BUT THE WORST PART is the lack of dark curtains. It is impossible to sleep with only a sheer beige curtain that covers 3/4 of an 8 foot window. We were awake by 6 am every day. The sunlight warms the room to the point of it being unbearable to sleep in. There is no fan, AC or working thermostat. Save yourself the headache and spend the extra cash to stay elsewhere. You will regret choosing this location. The shampoo and soap bottles do not contain what is stated on the label. I almost had an allergic reaction, but luckily recognized the smell of the allergen before spreading the soap all over my body. The spare pillows had long black hair. You can hear the other guests' conversations crystal clear. The terrace is pointless as you cannot smoke. Thankfully, only the hotel was the bad part of our trip. Other than this scab on Ontario st, the rest of the city is quite lovely."
