Little piece of heaven!

What an INCREDIBLE place!!!! I can highly recommend Hartford House from the beautiful rooms, on point service and the gorgeous landscaping! We spent 3 nights here celebrating our 5 year anniversary and had blissful weekend! They have a very talented chef and we did their 6 course tasting menu two nights, one with wine pairing and they have a very knowledgeable Sommelier- Kathryn! Then third night did the 4 course tasting menu. The food is SO DELICIOUS!! I can’t more recommend this place and we will definitely be back!!

Underwhelming on so many levels

Sadly did not live up to its reputation. Not all bad but the accumulation of things that didnt work, were broken, went wrong including the food, general service delivery and communication, overshadowed the good. List too long and varied to mention. We did address some issues with management - a few times - but this didnt change their behaviour over our 4 night stay so we eventually gave up. The issues not only impacted our stay, but also caused us significant stress and frustration. Disappointing as was suppose to be a Christmas treat for my 91 year old mother. This was our 12th hotel stay in 3 months in hotels ranging from 3 to 5 star luxury in various parts of the world - not once in any of these previous hotels did we have cause to complain to management.

Idyllic

Hartford House has so much to offer. It boasts gorgeous accommodation on a beautiful property with fairy tale-like gardens, hundreds of contented horses, a multitude of walks (both tranquil and energetic) and the sparkling deck-chair lined pool. The staff are friendly and attentive and the meals delicious. One can have a relaxed outdoor lunch or an elegant multi-course wine pairing meal. Every suite/ room and every stay is wonderful.

Amazing break!

We had an amazing stay at Hartford House, everything from the service to the food was great. We stayed in the lake suite and it was private and beautiful. The only issues we had was a leak in the roof due to heavy rain the week before and bathtub. Everything else was perfect and it was such a nice, relaxing holiday away from the city. There are many activities to do on the farm itself and in the surrounding areas.

Noisy room in Hartford House

No shower only a bath which was less than ideal.Our room was in the hotel itself and was very noisy.Could hear kitchen noise and continuous sound of staff walking on wooden floors .

Multi-Sensory, World-Class Experience

Hartford House with it's lush green hills and immaculately manicured lawns was the perfect place for spending a few days relaxing in front of the fire and going for walks.The accommodation was comfortable with underfloor heating and a fireplace.The food was truly a sensory experience. Frank's affable personality and in depth knowledge of the History of Hartford House ensured that our tour was both thorough and comprehensive. The "Centre of Excellence" was a sight to behold and the pristine condition of the structure is a credit to the dedicated staff and management.
