Overall we had a pleasent experience. Breakfast was good portions with some of the local food. Kitchen was accessible and clean with everything working. The only downside is the dust, the all property, room included is covered in thick dust. My husband is allergic to dust so this made the experience a bit unpleasant with a one year old aswell I wouldnt spend more than 2 days. But the owners are lovely and friendly and my son had fun with chooks and exploring the farm. I definitely reccommend it as a quick family holiday.
DO NOT STAY HERE! Perhaps once upon a time, when the owners werent tired, grumpy and rude, this place may have been a great place for young families to stay and enjoy everything it said on the brochure. Now only local workmen 'live' there. We arrived to a run down, very dated scene and what first hit me when walking in, was the smell. Dust and old. Neat and tidy but very dusty. Back garden was cluttered with all sorts of stuff. Couldn't use the bbq due to plant cuttings and rubbish all over it. Outdoor furniture covered in spiderwebs. A garden bench completely engulfed by ivy. Vehicles everywhere. Owners were incredibly rude - husband even shouted at my 11 year old for being uncontrollable for feeding grapes to chickens. She was so scared. He then shouted at me - a VERY aggressive little man. The 'friendly farm animals' consisted of 2 alpacas 3 sheep and some chickens. All filthy and starving. Furnitue old and dusty, beds dreadfully uncomfortable and the linen very faded. After being shouted at i called the booking website who contacted the owners who agreed to give a refund for the second night. No apology of course. They completely ignored us for the rest of the night! Yes, they live in the house with you!! Awkward! We couldn't have got out of there quick enough in the morning. Property is up for sale so hopefully the next owners treat the place right. Feel sick that my hard earned money still had to pay for the first night. 😭
Olga the proprietor was amazing. So friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit dated but comfortable enough. We enjoyed the fact that there was a kitchen that we could use. Breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed our stay.
Olga and Wayne the owners are lovely, Olga took care to make us great cooked breakfast, and very patient when our cheeky toddler spilled her milk over the dining table and carpet. I ordered dinner for the first night in advance, and it was great we arrived tired and needed that. We spent some nice time feeding the alcapas, emu, sheep and chickens, with warm hearted stories from Olga. Our little one had plenty of space of run around. The house/ communal area is very homely. Our room is clean, sheets towels all clean and replenished and the heater works well. Probably the only thing is the shower head is spurting water in all directions but we can accept that. From here we went to orange grove and vinewards, very nice break!
I liked the animals, the emu, sheep & alpaca's, the setting was lovely, I really liked the welcoming log fires but was extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of our room.
There were hairs on the bathroom walls & in the shower, dust & cobwebs on lightshade, cobwebs in the corners of the en-suite, mould around the bottom of the shower, the vanity cupboard was dirty, dirty marks on the walls & doors & around the light switch, the mat on the bedside table was marked.
The bedlinen was clean & comfortable with extra blankets supplied.
The shower head was partially blocked & therefore squirting water in all directions so no real pressure in the water spray.
There was no hairdryer supplied which I was very disappointed about.
The breakfast was nothing special & only very small portions
Beautiful house with great facilities, everything we needed. The hosts were fantastic, breakfast was wonderful. The gardens were well kept and the animals were a major attraction for our little one! A really great country getaway!
Spent the ANZAC weekend at this lovely B&B. Olga and Wayne are great hosts and always ready to chat or help out in any way. The kids will enjoy seeing them feed the animals.. Muchea is a good place to base yourself and spend the day at the Moore river estuary or Gingin.
