"Really lovely venue. Clean, spacious and attentive staff. They went out of their way to help! The food was delicious- we had the breakfast and, even as a big eater, I had to leave some of the full veggie english (amazing sausages!)! The pancakes were great too! We also used the packed lunch making facility for our climb to Helvellyn (which you can do from the hotel!) and this was also really nice. Would highly recommend. The only thing that would improve the hotel for me would be a dry room...

This seems to be an ongoing issue as have stayed here at least twice before and breakfast each time has been on the cool side. Having said that, hope to stay here again when return to Carlisle."
