Dirty and dusty
Not sure how this property has such great reviews. First of all the pictures are outdated. The place was dirty and really dusty. Pet hair was all over couches and stairs. No dishwasher pods. Garbage cans outside loaded with trash. Internet was super slow like dial up slow where you can’t even watch a movie. Definitely needs a deep clean but otherwise it could be a nice house with a great location.

Super bummed to hear this. I didn’t hear from you for the duration of your stay, but if I had known I would have loved to make this right for you. I’m a bit taken back by your review as cleanliness is our top priority and one of our top compliments at every one of our cabins. The pictures also are from last year, but have not been updated to reflect the new furniture we put in; which in most cases would be a nice surprise. We also have had remote workers at our cabin who have raved about the internet. Our area is being upgraded to fiber currently so there could have been work being done that disrupted your service? We’ve never had an issue brought to our attention about wifi speed- especially for streaming. Also, we keep a full stock of supplies in the basement, if the pods were out I would have been happy to instruct you where to find more. We don’t use pods though, we use a box with dishwashing powder and that potentially was missed. Pods were likely left from a previous guest. The trash service is taken each week, I’m sorry you hit it at the wrong day. We have extra bins if ever needed, and we own the private dumpster at the end of the road. I would have gladly sent someone to dispose of those for you.

The property is beautiful, quiet and serene. The cabin is nicely appointed. Beds were great. We enjoyed our week exploring Munising, Au Train, Marquette, Big Bay and Grand Marais. Would definitely stay again. Directions were spot on. Many thanks!

Beautiful property and cabin. Very clean. All as described in the listing. Owner very quick to respond to questions. The fall colors around the lake were amazing! Used paddle boat and kayaks. The only suggestion we have to the owner would be for more "exact" directions to the cabin once you turn off 94. As the owner mentions in the listing, GPS is not accurate. The GPS is still somewhat helpful if you can't find your way in or out but make sure to download it while you still have a strong cell signal because you most likely won't have a signal once you are away from main roads. Even though we had some trouble getting back to the main road the first day and we're somewhat lost, the fall colors and scenery more than made up for it! Highly recommend; especially if you are looking for a quiet and serene location to collect your thoughts and rest your soul!

Beautiful cabin on the lake
We had a wonderful getaway while staying at this cabin. It was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the campfire by the lake, kayaking, and using the paddle boat. It was in a remote area but still convenient for day trips to Munising and Marquette.

Beautiful cabin!
House was very clean and tastefully decorated with comfy beds! We enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboat as well as the beautiful view off the deck. Perfect place to see the stars at night. It is a drive along a lot of dirt roads to get there so be prepared to stock up before getting to the house, it did not have basics like salt, pepper or matches there.

Quiet & Peaceful with a beautiful lake view
The cabin has a great deck to sit outside and enjoy the lake view. It’s a small lake and not very deep but good enough to kayak or paddleboard on. It was very quiet and peaceful so we slept very well. There are gravel rounds approaching from the south for about 20+ minutes and if traveling to Munising it’s about a 25 minute drive, half of which is on gravel/dirt roads. Make sure you pack essentials since traveling to town and back is around 50 minutes. Pictured Rocks and the National Lakeshore are great day trips as is Marquette. Best beach was Au Train beach and Twelvemile. Nice place to stay if visiting the UP in the summer. There are flies and mosquitoes if walking dogs on the roads around the cabin so dress appropriately and bring bug spray. Kitchen is stocked with dishes, pots and pans and utensils for cooking, but recommend bringing your own spices, cooking oil, coffee and coffee filters & ice.

Relaxing cabin & setting
Cabin was just as advertised - it is well cared for & in good condition. Our family enjoyed taking the kayaks and paddle boat out on the small lake. We also enjoyed relaxing on the deck during the day & watching movies at night. The setting is serene. I messaged the owner with one question and got a response within minutes. We enjoyed our week of exploring the UP and relaxing at the cabin!

Beautiful cabin, peaceful setting.
The cabin was beautiful, well kept with everything we needed. We had a great time. Rode side by sides to the trails which were about 5 miles away. Very nice cabins in the area and very quiet. The only thing we would have liked to know was there were about eight miles of dirt roads to get there so getting to town took some time. Otherwise great place.

The cabin was great, had all the basics for cooking. The view of the lake was beautiful and the cabin was private. It had some dust built up on the fans and such, but otherwise was clean and well cared for. The host was very responsive and kind. We would stay again!

Perfect Getaway
Clean, cozy, large kitchen. We enjoyed it as a couple but would be great for a larger group too. Beautiful view of the lake, perfect to sit out by the fire. I would love to stay here any time of year. Lake is pretty shallow, not sure about the fishing. Easy drive to Munising and the local attractions. Host also sent clear directions, tips and expectations for guests which was much appreciated so there was no confusion.

Another great stay!
This was the second year in a row that we stayed at this cabin for our anniversary. What a great way to celebrate as it is located in a winter wonderland. Peaceful and easy to get to as the roads were completely plowed. The cabin was clean and provided everything we needed. Yes we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you Hillary!

The cabin was perfect for our first family vacation in years. We were even able to bring our dogs which was a plus. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away from the city, it is secluded and so peaceful with breathtaking views!

Peaceful UP Experience
What a pleasant, peaceful experience vacationing in the UP. This home is perfectly located, with less than a 30 min drive to town, beaches, and other attractions. It was an awesome place to meet the rest of our family & friends after camping in the Porcupine Mountains for a few days. The dogs loved exploring the area on our walks. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boating at the house. The night sky was vibrant and reflected beautifully on the lake. Lots of laughs shared and memories that will last a lifetime. We hope to return in the future. Thank you to the hosts for welcoming us into your home.

Highlight of our trip!
Our family spent a few nights here when vacationing in the UP and absolutely loved it! We enjoyed the kayaks/lake, time spent cooking food over the campfire and the view was so gorgeous. The rooms and beds were perfect for our family and we had space to spread out. It was so peaceful and enjoyable.

Birthday trip turned sour
I came here with my family to celebrate my 31st birthday. My initial reservation said 4 people, which I later updated (or so I thought) to include my aunts and uncles. Apparently inviting ppl to your trip doesn’t update the reservation. Due to this, I now have to pay an extra $350. The internet stopped working the second day we were there and the electricity didn’t work well upstairs so my phone would never charge all the way—terrible when you need it fully charged to take pictures. No AC either. It was a great trip otherwise.

Thank you for the review, Maria. The security deposit was collected upon because you had more than 8 guests at our cabin that can only sleep a max of 8, your reservation- with no updates, said 3 guests, our cleaning staff arrived to clean and you had not checked out yet, and you had unaccounted for pets and did not pay a pet fee either. This is very clearly stated in our house rules as well. I explained all of this before I collected any money and did not hear anything back from you via VRBO, text message or phone call. The first I’m hearing from you is with this review. I wish you would have reached out about the internet not working, and the trouble with the upstairs power- I would have promptly addressed these issues for you. These are certainly things we would have helped fix for you. I’m glad to hear you otherwise enjoyed your stay.

Hard to get to but worth the effort
The house is super clean and updated. The drive down the bending, one lane roads is not for the faint of hearts. Once you get there, the drive was large enough to turn my 26' trailer around so it was worth it. Super easy access to the trails and the view of the lake was beautiful. Even with the 12" of snow we got, we were able to get out easily.

An incredible cabin surrounded by Peace and Quiet
We absolutely adored our stay at this cabin. Our family of 6 (adults) had plenty of room to sleep, cook, and relax for our Christmas getaway. The owners have put so much effort into detail and making your stay great! We also loved that our pups were welcomed as well! We will definitely be back.

Really wonderful
Really wonderful. The cabin is lovely, and it is so peaceful and quiet at night. We also enjoyed walking on the back roads through the forest. And I learn to kayak on the lake! I’m not sure why people complain about the address, the directions that the owner sent were very clear and we had no problem finding the place. We really enjoyed our stay, and exploring all the area waterfalls as well as the cruise to the pictured rocks. We definitely stay there again if we make it up to the UP
