Private pool and beach access is the best! The only issue we had was with the keypad entry on the front door.

We were excited about the great movie choices but were never able to get vhs/dvd player to work :(Otherwise we enjoyed our beach and pool time and would return to compass rose again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time staying at Compass Rose 42. The location is wonderful, and the huge screened porch is worth 5 stars!! This condo is also very spacious! We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again. So now for the negative, the condo was not very clean. The shower curtain in the master bathroom was moldy, and the condo as a whole was very dusty. There was also an area on the ceiling in the living room that looked like water damage and the sheet rock was hanging in one spot. If not for these housekeeping issues I would have given 5 stars!

Reviewer Comments: Initial reservation for Duneside3, with 2 guaranteed parking passes explained by Garden city manager that although there are 2 guaranteed parking passes, 2 parking SPACES are not guaranteed, and we were advised to park on the grass (since there was no parking available on site).Relocated to Compass Rose-beautiful property,except the unit had a very foul odor due to mold/mildew;the 2nd night there was significant leakage from multiple spots on the ceiling.The ratings below are in response to compass rose 42(the only reason I gave a rating of 2stars regarding property management was the primary director of garden city realty, I believe his name was Donald. Extremely professional southern gentleman, who seemed to try his best to remedy a really horrible situation)

Reviewer Comments: Fantastic location - far enough away to avoid crowds and draw families. There was supposed to be pier access across the street but the code didn’t work and when I called I was told the pier may or may not be open due to needed repair’s following last year’s hurricane. Also DHEC closed down the pool for the better half of our stay. So we lost two of the perks that made this property so attractive and worth the extra money. Would have been nice for someone to have compensated us for lost pool time and told us the pier was closed before we arrived. Glad we didn’t bring a boat!

We like that it is 2 miles away from all the action of the pier. Makes for quieter times and less crowded beaches. This unit is great. Well stocked. Plenty of seating. It was comfortable and clean! The only problem was the queen size bed in the guest room could use a new mattress, the one there is very soft and you roll to the center. The primary bedroom and the king/bunk room was very comfortable.

The unit is in a great location to enjoy the many attractions between Myrtle Beach and Georgetown. And it's also a great place to stay, relax and enjoy the beach, or just sit on the porch or balcony and enjoy the views.Appreciate the updates that the owner makes to keep it comfortable and accommodating (though it would be nice to have the carpet and some of the extra furniture removed). And grateful for Garden City Realty's response to all inquiries and requests. It makes a vacation a vacation.

The condo has two updated bathrooms and the water stayed hot for multiple back to back showers (an improvement over last year). The kitchen is stocked nicely. Beds are comfortable. Plenty of seating in the den and kitchen. We loved the new keyless entry as it was easier than keeping up with the keys. Only issues we had were there were no oven mitts/pot holders. Note the kitchen is dark at night as there are no overhead lights. If you like to cook after the sun goes down the only lights you have are from the bar area. We have already booked for next year.

It has all the cookware you could possibly need. The pictures do not do it justice. I will definitely return.
