This is a special, peaceful and relaxing place. Vasily is an attentive host and gave us plenty of great recommendations for places to visit locally. He was proud to share his Cretan history and eco-farming techniques with us. We thoroughly recommend his farm tour. We ate our breakfast and evening meals at Dalabelos, enjoying the home grown and locally sourced food, beautifully prepared by Maria. Overall, this is a lovely spot for people looking for a peaceful and restorative place to stay combined with great Cretan hospitality.

Stunning views, wonderful hospitality. Secluded, but not isolated from Heraklion, Knossos, the surrounding beaches, caves, and hikes. Food is freshly—and lovingly—prepared.

Wir haben die Ruhe, traumhafte Aussicht, den wunderschönen Pool, das vorzügliche Essen sehr genossen. Die Gastgeber sowie das gesamte Personal sind sehr freundlich, herzlich & zuvorkommend. Wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen und vermissen jetzt schon die tolle Ambiance, die Herzlichkeit von Maria, Vassilis & Valerio sowie tollen Hunde Blacky, Sara & Aris. Die Führung durch die Farm war sehr interessant & der Musikabend einfach wunderbar. Wir lieben die traditionelle Musik von Vassilis. Maria ist eine ausgezeichnete Köchin & wir haben täglich lecker gegessen!

Cretan Paradise

Fantastic treasure! The rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable. Located on an organic farm, the accommodations are like elegant camping. You hear the birds and crickets. The wind rushes through the trees, but you can retreat to an air conditioner or swim in the infinity pool overlooking the valley and the sea when the weather is too warm in the afternoon. The hosts are incredibly warm. You feel a member of the family. They happily cook and adjust dishes to your liking. All the food comes from the farm or is locally harvested so it is fresh and tasty. We certainly will fly half way across the world to enjoy this paradise again!

3 days are not enough

We spent 3 days at Dalbelos Estate and really enjoyed it. It is the perfect retreat to explore this region. Too much to do around for only 3 days, thoug. The rooms are spacious and decorated with taste and the view from the balcony and the pool is breathtaking. The food was excellent, we had breakfast 3 times and more than enough to last until the evening. We ate 2 times there it and Maria's meals were fabulous. The freshness of the ingredients is unbeatable since it comes from the farm and the procers nearby. One evening, Vassilis offered a presentation of the different traditionnal instruments played in Crete, wich was very interesting. On our last day, Vassilis, guided us to take in the fields and farm on the property, there again we had a glimpse of the way of living in Crete. Vassilis was a lovely guest. He helped us us make the most of the little time we had in this area (the best beaches, the attraction not mentionned in guided books. etc.). Most of all he gave us a feel of the mindset and cultural backgrounf of the cretan people.

Stunning agri-turismo in the hills & 3k from beach

We had a totally relaxing holiday in Dalabelos Estate; our room was beautiful, the view was joyous, the food harvested and cooked onsite and we felt immersed in Cretan culture. Maria, Vassilis and their team were incredibly welcoming and generous with their time. They guided us to see people and places that we were particularly interested in, we discussed the history, architecture, arts of the area. The estate is a working farm, and the produce is freshly harvested for the restaurant. Crete is the food basket of Greece and you really delight in that here. From Panormos we took a bus trip to walk the 18k of the Samaria Gorge (which incidentally was not as difficult as is written, but is persistent) Knossos is an hour away, Vassilis sent us to explore gems, we walked, could have borrowed bikes. Nice company in other visitors and seclusion when we wanted. I highly recommend this place.
