Fabulous Views and Location to the Beach

The view from the balcony couldn't have been better and it took less than 90 seconds to get to the beach. Very clean and room provided plenty of amenities. You can't go wrong booking a room here.

The view and easy access to the beach were amazing. The room and balcony were very clean, and the kitchen was a great feature. Two of the neighboring properties are abandoned which was somewhat concerning. But the other guests in the building were all very nice and I felt safe the whole time. We only had one issue with the keypad to enter the room. But the maintenance man was very nice and helpful.

This was the perfect vacation get-away! I was pleasantly surprised with the property!! It was neat, clean and had everything we needed, including dishes, cookware and a coffee pot! The property is obviously an older property, but it was very tidy, comfortable and also quiet. We stayed for 6 days, with pets, and had zero complaints. The only minor thing was that the beds (mattresses) were a bit uncomfortable. However, that wasn't enough of an issue for me to lower my rating. The view is amazing and with a nicely sized balcony, complete with chairs and a table that are perfect for watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. Beach access is right out front, 30 seconds away!We are very happy that we found this little spot and will definitely be returning here soon!!

Needs broom and mop to clean floors when you come back from beach. Only 2 forks to eat with. Great place close to beach. Great view.

Welcome Getaway

The property is a bit run down and needs lots of work to make it feel welcoming. Overall, the room was clean and provided an excellent ocean front view, which is what we were looking for. It is within walking distance of restaurants and activities. This was a last-minute trip, we had a wonderful time.

Relaxing and enjoyable

The building is going thru a update and going to be wonderful when complete. Everything was accurate as stated and the location was pleasant. Things to do and food close by. Anything we needed was across the street at the general store. A very pleasant stay and would look forward to another stay soon

Easy access to beach. Daily cleaning of pool is needed. Property is very dated. Needs updates interior and exterior. Inside smells like cigarettes. I would not recommend.

Great People, Great View, Great Value!

This is a very clean and comfortable place to stay right on the ocean! It is well cared for by the staff who work 24/7 to make improvements and ensure you don’t have any issues. Very pet friendly and the permanent tenants are all very friendly as well!

Once inside the unit, we were pleasantly surprised. It was clean and the view was the selling point. The beds were adequate we slept well. The air conditioner tan cold!! Yay! However it was noisy which was helpful only in that it drowned out my son’s snoring. The kitchenette had dishes and silverware and basic cleaning supplies. It had pots and a pan but no cooking utensils. Outside, the building felt bland and dated. The unit was clean and we would go again. Suggestions would be to fully explain codes to enter the building and unit. Also, if you include pots and pans it useful to have tools.

Archery tournament weekend

The place was convenient for our trip. Check in was easy and the manager was very responsive to all of our questions. Laundry was easy to use with credit card pay. The only issue we had was the place smelled like pot through the halls and even our room. Freshener helped. The pool man was very friendly as he worked. There were no signs for people to remember to pick up their dog poop so it was all over. I picked up several piles so we didn’t step in it. I realize that is a guest issue not the owners fault. Signs would help though.

Damp room on arrival

When we arrived at 7 p.m. noticed the floor was damp like it was just mopped. We did not touch the A/C unit because the room temperature felt fine. We put our luggage in the room and went to beach. At 9:30 p.m. we went back to the room to settle in and go to bed. When we got back into room is was twice as wet and water dripping from the ceiling. I called and the person told me to turn A/C on below 70 degrees and keep all doors shut. They also sent a maintenance person thay helped us towel dry the entire room, got us new pillow cases, and towels. The room dried out finally after a few hours. We had no idea about the A/C to bet set below 70 or the dampness comes. It was already set to 73 when I arrived and was comfortable. Signs, text message, or email about the 70 degree limit and keep doors closed should be posted to inform guests.

Pet and low budget friendly

For a pet friendly beach location, this was an ok choice. The bathroom and kitchen were very clean and new. The building is old and property amenities have not been updated. But just steps from lovely beach, on main Myrtle road and restaurants and attractions are within walking distance. Good Low-Budget rental! There was an undisclosed expensive pet fee, so don’t be fooled like we were.

Location was beautiful. Views were perfect. There were a few things I think may help others prior to booking or staying:1. There are only 2 extremely flat pillows per bed. They are so flat that together they equal about 1/2 of a normal pillow. No big deal, but bring your own pillow.2. The place has a very musty/stinky smell. At first we didn't know what it was, but we then realized it was related to the air conditioner. Every time we turned the AC on the room filled with the smell of garbage. Hoping the host will have this fixed for the next guests.3. If you have a dog they collect the pet fee outisde of VRBO. I was sketched out by this and reached out to VRBO about it, and it is completely on the up and up. VRBO considers them a trusted partner and it is allowed. That said, the company was a bit rude when I asked about it. They acted like I was trying to get out of paying, which I was not. I think their communication could be better.Overall- it was a good place to stay for cheap. Views were gorgeous and our dog was able to stay. The negatives were outweighed by the positives.

there were a few roaches spotted. the pool listed online was not of the same condition in person. the restroom water pressure was very low. the restroom light switch was malfunctioning. we still enjoyed the stay, very convenient check in. nice oceanside view. convenient location, we would reserve Blue Palmetto again in the future

Just enough!

Overall, my stay with this property was amazing. One critique is that this property is a bit outdated. The bathroom/shower area was a bit old, but it’s functional so it’s not a major concern. It also doesn’t have ventilation, so after a shower it does get humid and hot, but also another thing that’s not the biggest concern. The room itself was clean, organized, and accurately reflected the pictures promoted. The location was great! It was quiet, right in front of the ocean and free parking! (It’s across the street from the property, not sketchy, but sometimes difficult to find parking) There’s also a shop in front of the property that has almost all basic necessities which came in handy! I would revisit this property again!

Moldy, Damp, Dirty

If you're a young 20 something going there to just party. This is your senior week unit all over again. Bathroom was clean. Floors appeared mopped. Sheets looked clean. Balcony view is the high lite. Pool was filthy never saw any one clean the piles of sand. Location is great but you have to park accross the street. Communication was the same email from rental office 11 times. Really 11 emails same info. Room and building codes emailed to you at 4pm day of check in. General store and the owner are awesome. All you need for quick needs are there. I regretted our booking this unit the minute we walked in the first floor hallway. Elevator was broken one entire day. Good luck if your on the 6th floor walking all those steps. Indoor pool is closed basically a hole inside a room maybe under construction but never saw anyone working there. Trash all over the side of building piled up. Not sure what day is trash day? But when we left it was piles of trash everywhere. AC worked good but room was damp and floors where slick from constant moisture. Beds are horrible uncomfortable. Long and short if going to party with no family go for it. If traveling with kids or elderly be warned. This place is nasty. Very unhappy I spent the money and booked this unit. Worst VRBO experience ever.

Short get away

Decided to go for quick get away to beach. Communication with host was good. Got there parked across street from room and got parking pass. No room for parking to load unload by entrance and no cart to put luggage on. Cleaning still taking place when I got up to room waited about half hour for them to finish. Room was adequate. There are roaches present. Do not leave your belongings on floor or on kitchen counter. Make absolutely sure you wash any items before using from cabinets. Coffee pot had roaches inside it. Refrigerator stove microwave worked. Bed comfortable. Shower good lots of hot water. Access to beach convenient. Also dogs allowed. Location is also convenient to walk to eat and to drive to different destinations. I enjoyed park on Crabtree Ln for walking dog just a bit of a drive to get there. Air conditioning worked well staff was friendly and I did enjoy the beach. Did not go to pool. Did not use laundry facilities although they looked nice. due to roaches found and killing several I made decision to leave day early.
