Oh my the staff here are amazing. We are vegan and they made us fresh vegan samosas daily and vegan veg stir fry for dinner. They completely went above and beyond to accommodate us, even venturing out to buy soy milk for us. The only issue we had was in our cottage. Overall it was wonderful but the shower had a leak and the flooring was soggy. If the owners of this property could properly fix the shower I’d give this a 5 star.

The Severine Cottages have cozy beds and an eco-friendly vibe. Very quiet location near to many of the activities one would like to do in the Karen suburb of Nairobi (visit the Giraffe Center and Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage; tour Nairobi National Park; shop at Langata Link, Kazuri Beads, The Souk, etc.; and eat at excellent restaurants like Talisman or Tamarind/Tamambo). The staff were fantastic. The only glitch was that they did not have our reservation through Expedia for some reason and our larger cottage was not available. They offered me and my father two separate smaller cottages, which worked well. There is an onsite restaurant, which offered a good breakfast. You can also have lunch or dinner on your own. My one recommendation was that, while the entrees were good, the side dishes could be upped a bit in quality. They weren't bad at all, and very plentiful, but for the price, they could step up their game with just a little extra effort in taste.

Lovely stay

Wonderful relaxing couple of nights before heading on safari. The chalets are lovely and really well appointed and the location is quiet on the edge of the city but great for the National Park, Giraffe Center and elephant orphanage. Service was good and there is a little bar and restaurant where we got some really tasty food and then sat around the fire with a beer.

Clean, safe, comfortable, quiet, and great!

Severine Cottages was a hidden gem in the affluent Karen neighborhood of Nairobi. It is a short (less than 10 Minutes) drive to the Giraffe Center and Nairobi National Park. It is quiet and each room is its own cottage with updated appliances and amenities. The restaurant on site is great too - fair prices and delicious food with many choices. All the staff were so kind and welcoming. I felt very safe the entire time, early-30s female traveling alone. I highly recommend Severine Cottages for your next Nairobi trip!

Loved being there

Liking it is absolutely dependent on expectations! We really enjoyed being there. We had travelled into an interesting Kenya....but a Kenya without hot showers or permanent shelters....and the Severine was like a gift to the weary! Lovely people, too! Absolutely recommend it.

This was an incredible find! It was absolutely spotless, the best bathroom, the cutest, most serene atmosphere, but most importantly, the staff was AMAZING! They were so welcoming and caring. It was wonderfully refreshing!

The staf was extremely friendly and we loved practicing our Swahili on them. The food is awesome and it’s so quiet and peaceful there, we even added a night we loved it there so much. It is our go to place when we are in Nairobi now!

The staff are very friendly, kind and helpful. Also the size of the the cottages and the property itself was very ideal for our family of 4. Loved the fact that the distance to Giraffe center was like a 10 min walk!!

It was very clean, comfy beds, peaceful grounds and friendly staff! We loved our stay here! We left early at 6am and staff brought us coffee and breakfast to the room before we left. The driver however overcharges so negotiate a price beforehand.

Amazing place to stay

I would highly recommend Severine Cottages, for its location, amazing cottages and lovely staff. I stayed here 2 nights on my own until my friend joined me and I was made to feel so welcome and at home.

This was the coolest place. Within easy walking distance of the Giraffe Center and close to Nairobi National Park and the Elephant Orphanage without having to deal with Nairobi traffic. Nice little cabins with all the amenities of home. Very pleasant yard and garden. Mili was the first person we met formally in Kenya and she was amazing. Meals were great and they set us up with a great local taxi/guide who made everything easy. Every one there was great. It was a fantastic introduction to Kenya and when the time came, it was hard to say goodbye.

Great location, great staff and nice amenities...

We stayed at a 5 star hotel in the city center and this hotel/cottages were far more comfy, clean, safe and hospitable. Definitely will be coming back for a stat in Nairobi.
