Check in after hours was the easiest I’ve experienced. Reception was welcoming. Not much else to say; the stay was very short. Have stayed there in the past and the meals served in the incorporated restaurant were excellent.

The property was a little tired. However the bed was very comfortable and room was generally clean. Staff were very helpful and courteous. Room very convenient to shopping centre

The manager quickly solved a problem with the wifi in my room. I ate at the restaurant the chicken parmi was delicious and topped off with a good sized salad. The resort is undergoing renovations these did not impact on my stay.

Pretty standard for regional/remote accomodation in northern Australia, and there is a low bar. Understandably Covid is continuing to make it hard for accomodation providers e.g. staff shotages, kitchen closes earlier than advertised etc. But the place is dated, staff weren't very welcoming or acoomodationg - they just seemed grumpy and fed up. Walls are thin so I had to contend with snoring. Weipa is a minimg down and honestly, there is nothing much nice about mining towns. So have low expectations about everything and it will be fine.

Would not recommend!

Walked in to reception to check in and wasn’t greeted at all! I asked to check in, was handed room key and that was it. No explanation/conversation entered into whatsoever. Room very dated, hotel very dated and not well maintained. Pool dirty. Had to go back to reception to ask for wifi details, handed me a piece of paper with details on it. Again no conversation and why would he not give me this information with the key. Very unimpressed!

Untapped Potential

We liked the spacious room and easy access to the small shopping centre with supermarket just 2minutes walk away. Also, the short walk to Barramunchies at the Caravan Park across the way, for a meal and to sit in the garden looking out to sea as the sun set. The pool area looked nice, but we didn't use it. Otherwise, the hotel looked tired and unloved. Old cans and a few bottles were strewn along the driveway that were not picked up the 3 days we were there. The verge belonged to the shopping centre i think, but it isn't a good look as you drive in and it would've taken 5-10 minutes to clear. The small palm trees along the drive could have looked attractive had the dead branches been removed. The toilet brush holder in the bathroom had so many dead bugs and muck in it, you could have grown potatoes in it. These things are a shame as with little effort they could be fixed. I would not choose to stay here again.

Clean and comfortable

Room furniture a little old looking but clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and a nice Mexican restaurant on site. Small shopping centre next to the motel. Motel a little bit difficult to locate as not off main street.

Business Trip

Have stayed previously and was interested to see if it had improved. It is a very noisy hotel, particularly at dinner time as the kitchen is off the same corridor as the rooms. The room was clean and tidy and large and spacious. Pillows need replacing, mine were lumpy and there is only 2 on the bed. The room comes with a microwave, but no forks or spoons so makes it a bit redundant. Next door to the shops so convenient for getting food etc. Could improve with some pest control, spent one night chasing a couple of spiders. Not really a place for business as there is no desk space but overall an average place to stay and not overpriced.

Bed was very comfortable, rooms was large very low noise level even though beside a small shopping centre. Did not like coming out of my room, walking down a hallway and looking straight at someone working in the kitchen.

Obnoxious manager

I had lost my key which was in the pool area and was told to swim and look for it. The Manager said he did not have a master. It was late and I needed to get to bed. After half hour looking in the dark, I approached manager and said you must have a master key. Well here take this he said, you can look for it in the morning.

Location good but poor condition

The location was good as it was next to Woolsworth however the place needs a full on renovation. The owner did try to help when needed. For business travel good wifi and a table with chair was needed. The owner moved me closer to the wifi router toward the end.
