Accomodation was perfect for what we needed. The staff was friendly and there were plenty of ammenities. Everything was clean and tidy and the common areas and rooms were kept to a lovely warmth. The continental breakfast was a nice addition.
Great Spa and Sauna to recover from trekking. Friendly staff.

Nice property great with kids and pretty easy to use nice arcade n spa beds are very springy and not to comfortable could feel all springs. Otherwise very lovely stat
The 6 bedroom room, was just big enough for us. The room was quickly warmed up by the heatpump. The kitchen was well setup and the fridges were perfect to keep our food fresh. Oh, and the breakfast was just what we needed to start the day

For a lodge is good
This is a lodge, not a hotel so that people need to manage their expectations, main points:
- Staff is friendly
- Hotel is warm enough for cold weather, but no control for heating is in the room, it is centrally controlled
- Toilets, bathroom and hot water are all good
- Beds are not very comfy
- Have not tried the lodge restaurant food
- Complimentary hot drinks and drinking water tap are in lounge area only, so you have to leave your room for those and go back
- Kitchen area for cooking your own food is available
- Cleanness is average (unless you're not fussy)
- Free parking is available
- Continental breakfast is average
All staff were so kind, always willing to help, and very professional. So thank you to each and everyone for everything!
However, the premises are in serious need of renovation and update, and the couches should be replaced by new ones, with no stains or holes.
Also, while the communal area was decently heated at night, it was quite cold in the morning.
Finally, breakfast was a little too basic for the price we paid (the average price of a 5-star hotel).
So altogether, overpriced accommodation with a large room for improvement.

Staff good but rooms and facilities a bit dilapidated.
breakfast appreciated
We enjoyed our stay here, its very family friendly and excellent place to stay for a trip to the mountains and areas nearby. With unlimited tea/coffee and a wonderful lobby area with games to play and a fireplace, made the stay really enjoyable !

Affordable jumping off point if you want to stay in the National Park Village for its nearby activities. Great for families.
sauna out of order. You have to pay for spa pool, six dollars per person for only an hour! Scam. Shower was flooding and very claustrophobic. Had to wait 20 minutes becuase staff was no where to be seen. had to call the owner multiple times and he sounded disintrerested in our requests. bunk beds were very uncomfortable and loud.

poor heating for room. bunk bed very small and poor.
We had booked a room for 150 NZ dollars to be told on arrival we had booked a 90 NZ dollar budget room with shared bathroom but were charged the extra $60 by Expedia for booking through them! We said we wanted a private bathroom so the guy charged us an extra $49 making out he had had to juggle rooms for us ( when we returned later to return our key no cars were in the car park suggesting the place was not full). For $200 we found rooms are normally pretty nice in New Zealand.
This room was appalling, the double bed looked ancient and well worn, the bathroom was no bigger than a cupboard and looked unclean and whilst there my partner got two bug bites on his torso. We asked for a refund but were told NO and the guy, who I presume was the owner or .manager was totally dismissive.! This is known as a backpacker place by locals but its a very poor and very expensive backpacker place (backpackers deserve better) There are much better places around and in the village at better prices and clean. We decided to find elsewhere to stay and are so far out of pocket @ $200. Based on our experience I'd avoid at all costs. Will be contacting Expedia
