We soon learned that the property was not .66 miles from Gruene Hall as indicated on the listing but more like 2 miles away. This meant we would not be able to walk to Gruene Hall that evening. "It was a cute little cottage. We didn't think it was cleaned...and having little ones, its important. We pulled the futon out and were surprised by all the crumbs that were in the crease. Also the fans were full of dust and a lounge chair was tore. Instructions were out dated..or not for that cottage. They instructed to leave dishes in dishwasher but theres no dishwasher. Instructions did say there was a quiet time and having to wear wrist bands, and one parking spot per rental. We saw more...

The week prior I visited with my boss and we stayed on the second floor it was amazing so I had my following visit booked the same day I returned home from the first visit. "Very clean! Anything you need and more is there. We did mot end up cooking but all the appliances were in great condition. Comfy beds and hot water in shower. The location is a little ways outside of San Marcos but not a far drive at all. Very quiet and peaceful. The icing on the cake is the hot tub. Perfect temp and strong jets. Perfect for a cold and windy weekend of all outdoor activities. Short drive to Martindale if want to do something fun and quaint. Close by the river."
