The property itself was exactly as listed. The place was clean, spacious, safe neighborhood with lots of good places within walking distances, short Uber rides to CBD and French Quarter. If this review was just about the property, would recommend without hesitation.
However, i had to deduct a star for the check in process. Check in was after 3:00 PM. The host messaged me asking when we would arrive, and I replied that we would be there between 6:00 and 7:00 PM.
We arrived at 6:30 PM and tried to access the property using the provided instructions. We couldn't access the property, so we did the backup instructions provided. When Ronell answered the door, he said that we had arrived 30 minutes early, so we would need to wait 15 minutes while he got it ready. I told him that we were not early, actually we were right in the middle of the 6 and 7 interval i had given him. Regardless, we had to stand around for closer to 25 minutes before he let us enter the property.
People make mistakes, that's no big deal, but i was already irritated and disappointed that he tried to blame the delay on us, because we got there before 7. He tried some other, somewhat shady methods of making himself look good while still blaming us by assigning a bogus fee, then generously waiving it, until I reminded him that 3:00 was check-in time, we were not early, and his made up fee was bogus.
The rest of the stay was pleasant, and we only had limited interactions with him in the remaining time.
