UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT (02/01/2020) - Erick Lewko, manager of two neighboring 5-star VRBO luxury properties is now overseeing this property. Recent changes include re-decorating the main floor by adding significantly more seating, adding a second living room space near the bar, a new children's reading and play space on the second floor, an expanded dining room layout, additional televisions in 2 of the bedrooms, new artwork throughout the house, more bedding options, additional side tables and seating in the bedrooms, and more. Bayou Moon is a raised Acadian cottage on 8 park-like acres with 550' of water frontage and 30+ live oaks. Enjoy nature's paradise in this newly renovated 100 year old home. See pelicans, egrets, rabbits, fox, deer, and an occasional alligator. Bring your boat or rent one up 'da bayou'. Fish or crab from the pier... or if you prefer, Kenney's Seafood ( 1mi.) has fabulous live and cooked seafood including crawfish. Enjoy water sports on the bayou or relax in the large swimming pool. (The feature on the side of the pool is not a heated spa, it’s is only a shallow seated area). Large back and front porches, as well as ample space to grill and/or boil. Four bedrooms/four baths, three large living areas, gameroom with ping pong, wet bar, stainless appliances in kitchen, granite countertops, and much more. The Master bedroom has a King sized bed, bedroom 2 downstairs has a Queen bed, bedroom 3 downstairs has two Queen beds. Bedroom 4 upstairs has a Full bed. New mattresses and bedding are now in all of the bedrooms and this home is always very clean. This area of Slidell is a 30-35 minute drive to the French Quarter via I-10.

Important note: Parties or events involving more than the registered guests are not allowed without approval and acceptance of a specific set of rules and fees arranged via management.

All rentals include a $500 refundable security deposit, a $99 damage insurance fee (listed as a "property fee" ), and a $250 charge for the cost of basic cleaning the home upon checkout.

Southern Charm, Needs Attention

Beautiful home with southern comfort. Enough room for everyone to move around comfortably. However, miniblinds in most of the rooms were broken or missing panels. Also, a gaping hole in wall. Out of concern of what may crawl in, we plugged the hole with a plastic soda bottle during our stay.purchased more towels and toilet paper to last us during stay. Overall, a beautiful home in need of attention. most of four couples to move about comfortably.

Never disappoints

Perfect for our bayou wedding weekend

A Louisiana native, I booked the property the weekend of my wedding at Palmetto's to a Massachusetts groom. We stayed in the house with his closest friends, and got permission to use the location for an extended family picnic on Sunday. My husband's people had minimal experience in Louisiana, and the grounds did not disappoint. They enjoyed walking the property, knocking some golf balls around, and relaxing by the pool under the stunning oaks. The only downsides were the exterior had some maintenance needs (one of the deck stairways had a completely loose board, so we used it to block that set of stairs) and the pool was quite dirty. We had a beautiful 80+ degree weekend and it would have been nice to have the pool in better shape. But, overall, the location was exactly the Louisiana experience I wanted my new and remote family to enjoy, and we had a lovely time. Everyone was completely delighted with the views and location.

Needs attention to the details. In hind sight we realized this is a great location for larger groups. For the price of the property, we were expecting top notch accommodations and were disappointed based on those expectations.

Nice location

This property is located in a beautiful setting. The home is decorated nicely. It is in desperate need of a good scrub and TLC. The owner also might want to invest in nicer linens, mattresses and mattress pads. Upon check out we were disgusted to find out that the master bed and another did not even have a mattress pad under the sheet and the mattress was stained and filthy. Very disgusted to think we had slept on a bed that way. Gross!

This property was fabulous for our family of 8. Came in for our Family Reunion where we had family spread out all over NOLA .We enjoyed the house so much that we wished we had stayed a couple more days.

Comfortable place to stay

Plenty of room for a family of 7 adults. Very quiet setting. House could use a small amount of TLC, minor things like several blown light bulbs. Pool is larger than usual and works great. Pool could use a little tile maintenance. Grounds would be more beautiful if it was mowed a little more often. Covered porch on back deck has been removed, it isn't a covered seating area as pictured. Extremely hot without shade. AC in the house works great. Lots of seating throughout. Ping-pong table was hours of fun. All and all I give this property a 4 out of 5. I would definitely recommend this property. Owner Communication was awesome. Easy check in and out!

Perfect Place

The host was great. Easy communication. The house was ready earlier than the check in time, and he let me know in case I was waiting. Which, of course, he didn’t have to do. Pool and yard maintenance is well done, especially considering the size of the yard. We came to visit nearby family, so we’ll plan to stay here again.

Beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood! Lots of space in the home with beautiful furnishings! I asked for a Christmas tree and the property managers decorated the home beautifully! Great communication for the Property Manager ! We loved our stay! 40 minutes to the French Quarter and Airport.

We booked this home for family to stay in during our wedding weekend. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Served our purposes perfectly! Plenty of space. The property is quiet and beautiful! We took family photos by many of the stunning old oaks and I’m so excited to see the photos! Great for hosting a large family. Beds are comfortable and very inviting.

Staycation Before School Starts

We had an absolute blast at this property. The kids LOVED the pool. The property was picturesque and calming. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. There was plenty of room to sleep and the playroom upstairs was an awesome addition! I actually got to relax and unwind while there. It’s close to the city and made it easy to run grab a couple little things here and there.

Bridal House

The house was the perfect place to host my daughters bridal party and to use the day of the wedding to get ready. The grounds were beautiful for outside bridal pictures. We are very grateful that the owners allowed us to use the house for the wedding day by having make up people, hair dressers, photographers and videographers on the property. It was the perfect day for my daughter!

Beautiful old home on 8 acres

The town of Slidell is full of great restaurants and any convenience you need. It was great being about 30-40 minutes from New Orleans and still being able to escape to our quiet retreat in the evenings. With nine adults, we had plenty of room to spread out, play board games and watch TV at this home.

Nice location but not enough lighting by the pool at night

Very nice location. Wish the jacuzzi worked while we were there. Also wish lights could've been on by the pool. But overall a very nice and quiet place.
