This home was very clean and well supplied with things a VRBO should have. We loved the home layout and got lots of use from the beautiful boat dock. We happened to have very beautiful weather, which made our stay that much more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again - thank you!

Great place to stay

Loved the house. Very clean and well stocked. Dock is very nice. Location on the lake is super convenient to Cedar Grove Marina. The road noise is the only downfall of this place. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My family and I had a great time together staying at this house. We loved the layout of the house; it was perfect for 5 children and 4 adults. We did not swim as we had very young kids and there is no beach - only a dock in very deep water. But the house was wonderful and suitable for us as we explored Cumberland Gap and the surrounding areas.

Great time at the lake

A large group of us stayed at the Camp Rampe Lakefront Cabin for a wedding we were attending. Needless to say, we all had a great time! The house was perfect inside and out. Loved it so much we all plan on coming back next year around this time. Thank you for a great time!

Our third annual July trip

This was our third stay in Camp Rampe and it never disappoints. Great location on the lake in a nice calm cove with a dock you can tie your boat up to for your entire stay. Two kayaks and paddle boards are also available for use along with a lily pad this year! That was an added bonus and wish this had been mentioned on the details about the house. The house had everything we needed. Gas and charcoal grills are also available. We would definitely stay here again on beautiful Norris Lake.

Great Lakefront Stay

Great house. Very clean with good amenities. Good lake access, but it has quite a height distance from the patio to the dock/lake which wasn't as apparent from the listing. But for those without mobility issues, the stairs/ramp down to the dock is well maintained and managable. The access road is narrow and the driveway has a tight turn back to the road when exiting, but as long as you're not pulling a trailer, then that isn't an issue. This is definitely a great choice for a large party. There's close access to marinas and local stores about 10 minites away if you forgot anything. Overall, i would definitely recommend.

The dock is not handicap accessible. The coffee pot does not use pods. We had an issue in the beginning but management listened to our concerns. Overall, this is a nice lakeside cabin to stay. The two decks were nice to relax on with beautiful lake views. The bottom deck had a nice ambiance with the covered table and party lights.

July 2025 review

Great house! Super clean, well stocked with kitchen items, sooo many towels and linens! Outdoor fire pit, along with propane portable fire ring. Gas and charcoal grills, 2 refrigerators. Oscillating fan in the bunk room, beds were soft (not firm) but comfortable . Initially we were a bit skeptical of the home when pulling up to it, as outside landscaping and adjacent lot were a bit rough, but once we walked inside the home the outside didn’t matter. The entire home is updated. It is a split level home and there are a lot of stairs (prob about 5 flights) to get down to the dock, but that’s unavoidable. The dock looked to be a shared dock with the neighbors but they only parked their boat at it, they never imposed on our time or privacy, they even offered to rent it to us on the day we leaving, had it been a day earlier we would have taken them up on it. There were 2 paddle boards, a kayak and a lilly pad, we think they may have been the neighbors, but we used them all week and they never told us otherwise. Only negative, (but not even a huge problem) was the road traffic noise across the cove, but it didn’t ruin the trip at all. And the bottom deck patio table chairs need thicker cushions, they weren’t the most comfortable. Cedar grove marina is 5 min drive or a short kayak trip. There are also several other marinas nearby. The house is located about 15 minutes to the big water , which is amazing!! I would rent this property again , 10/10!

This home had a great view, but we were managing to stay with no AC at all in the house. It was 90° the whole time due to the weather from outside. On our last day (5 day trip) the AC was fixed, we stayed with fans to hold us over in the heat. We told the owners multiple times about the situation and nothing was done until the last day.

Absolutely wonderful experience!

Camp Rampe was one of the best rental properties I have ever been to, a relatively easy to find property, located in a cove where traffic is limited makes for a private experience just minutes from the rest of Norris Lake. The dock and lily pad provided were a perfect place to jump in the water and feel truly safe from boaters and other craziness while providing the perfect lake experience. Our group had 9 adults in the home ad there was plenty of room for us! While there were a couple of our group who decided to sleep on couches, the beds were extremely comfortable (as were the couches!). The property was clean, the two balconies offered extra outdoor space, the kitchen had PLENTY of plates, cups, cookware, and the Smart TV's provided some relief when it unfortunately rained briefly on our trip. Book now, don't wait, book this house and have a blast. The only negative I have is...after more people book this house it will be harder to book in the future. I'll be back!

Norris Lake

Our weekend stay at this property overlooking Lake Norris was overall satisfactory for hosting a large group. The location is serene, offering a quiet retreat with a private dock ideal for swimming. The kitchen amenities were adequate with essentials like toaster, silverware, and dishes available. However, there were some notable shortcomings. We arrived half an hour after check-in time to find the cleaning lady still present. Although the surface cleanliness appeared acceptable, we discovered that three beds lacked any new sheets and just the bare mattress was under the comforter, with no additional sets were available in the house. Moreover, despite the listing mentioning a lily pad for water activities, it was missing during our stay. Our experience was marred by an unfortunate incident that greatly disturbed our privacy. While enjoying swimming and hanging by the dock, we were confronted by three unfamiliar men who claimed ownership of a pontoon parked there, stating they were friends of the property owner. This unexpected intrusion left us feeling uneasy and prompted us to involve law enforcement to resolve the situation. In conclusion, while the property served its basic purpose for our group gathering, the issues encountered, especially regarding privacy and missing amenities, were significant enough to affect our overall satisfaction. Regrettably, these factors would deter us from considering a return stay.
