This exquisite Victorian residence, built in 1917, offers breathtaking views of the splendid Chesapeake Bay. The home boasts three bedrooms: one queen on the ground floor and two queens along with twins on the first floor. It features four full bathrooms, three adorned with marble and granite, and one showcasing tile with granite finishes. This home is amazing. It is cozy, very spacious and has everything you need. I think the part we liked best is the wrap around porch, views of the bay and direct access to the beach. We drank our coffee every morning out in the deck looking out into the bay and watching as various ships would cross back and forth. Seeing all the ships was as exciting for the adults as it was for my teenage son. We also walked the beach every morning and got to find treasures to bring back home :). The house’s location is very good as well. Nothing is more than a few minute drive away. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home and we’ll definitely be staying here again in the future.

Our stay was perfect. The rocking chairs on the big, beautiful porch are the perfect place to escape reality while you watch the waves roll in and the big ship glide by on the horizon. The seabirds provide the ideal amount of entertainment. The interior of the house is the perfect blend of a bygone era and modern day conveniences. The house was 5-star clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the food, drink, and live music at the pier next door. Communication with the host was easy and welcoming. We had no problems during our stay, but felt confident that they would have been addressed immediately based on the accessibility of the host. We look forward to booking our next stay soon!

The vicinity to the beach was exactly what I wanted. The house is in very nice shape for a home of this age, with many modern upgrades. The fact we could have our dog come with us was one of the biggest deciding factors for me. It was kind of a spur of the moment decision to take a trip ( about 2 weeks) and honestly can't believe there was availability on such short notice for 7 night's. Would not hesitate to consider coming back. The restaurant at the pier is a short walk, and the food was great.

Dream come true

The pictures do not do this place justice. Every detail of this home is captivating- an architectural dream. Quinn did an amazing job keeping the authenticity of the home with some appreciated but appropriate upgrades. You want for nothing in this home- everything is well thought out and organized. Plenty of space for all of us! The teens loved the little hideaway on the third floor, the moms loved the porch, and the dog misses the wind in his fur. This was by far one of our family’s best vacations. Beautiful home and the one of the most hospitable owners!

This is our 3rd year staying at the Big Blue House. Everything we need is right there. Walking on the beach, swimming and our daughter’s family likes to fish off the pier.Quinn was very responsive when we had an issue with the washer. He got it repaired quickly. What a gem!

This property is amazing! The best part about it is the location. Right on the beach next to the pier that has a restaurant. We loved it! The house is great, it has lots of space and a barbecue in the garden. The pictures don't do justice. The communication with the manager is fantastic; they were ready to resolve any issues immediately (they even sent us a high chair for our baby to sit with us at the table, as our portable high chair could not fit the tables in the house). We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a wonderful time!

Family Get Together

My husband and I rented this charming home for a long weekend in October to visit my husband's 90 year old brother and family that live locally in Norfolk. Typically when we visit we stay at a hotel in Norfolk...thankfully, it was all booked up and I found this gem of a place instead. Could not have picked a better place to gather and will definitely book this historic home on Chesapeake Bay again. The wrap around porch was an amazing feature. We spent our mornings on the porch having coffee overlooking the bay and afternoons and evenings leisurely reading or having a cocktail. And, with beach access from the house, we were able to take get daily walks in. The kitchen has a gas stove, which is a plus for me, and I was able to cook two big family meals without lacking for any cookware ( I did bring all of my own spices with me). Additionally, there is a drip coffee maker as well as a Keurig depending on your preference. A large dining room table was able to accommodate all ten family members I hosted for dinner. Despite the home being built in 1917, there is ample hot water and the water pressure was amazing! Most importantly and the biggest plus about this rental was the host, Quinn. She was in communication with us throughout our stay, just to check to see if everything was as expected or if we needed anything at all...we didn't... but just to have such a communicative host was so appreciated!! Thank you, Quinn for sharing this lovely home!
