Yosemite Bass Lake Finegold Retreat

Hello, we love to Host for Homeaway.
We are nestled just a few miles from Bass Lake and about 25 miles from the South Gate Hwy 41 Entrance. The Valley is 35 miles from the Southgate (approx. 1.5 hours in good conditions). I suggest getting an early start because travel times greatly increase during holidays and summer months. PLEASE CHECK YOSEMITE ABOVE FOR RESERVATIONS FOR SUMMER MONTHS.
Here, you will find a quaint private studio apartment that accommodates up to four people (two per bed). Currently there is one queen bed and one sofa bed (queen). Please note the price reflects for the first two people. There are additional charges for each person after. The apartment has a full mini kitchen furnished with dinnerware, coffee maker, microwave and necessities to enjoy an indoor meal.
Outdoors you will find the property peaceful and inviting with gorgeous views of Goat Mountain. The back yard is spacious and opens up to a path that leads to our seasonal Fine Gold Creek. (Please note: we are currently under some landscaping construction)
If, after visiting Yosemite or Bass Lake you still need something to do, you can check out North Fork and Bass Lake’s local attractions. Just down the road from Fine Gold Retreat is beautiful Manzanita Lake. It is a perfect little lake with the most peaceful setting for fishing, swimming or just hanging out to feed the ducks. It even has built-in grills so you can BBQ a few hamburgers. Manzanita Lake is one of my favorite places. Trust me; you will not regret taking the time to visit this special place.
North Fork is also home to the Mono Indian Museum and an art gallery that hosts local mountain artists. North Fork has the best pizza and Mexican food restaurant you could ask for.
Fourth of July weekend is a busy time for North Fork and Bass Lake. The weekend of July 4th, North Fork hosts our annual Loggers Jamboree where professionals and amateurs alike can show off their logging and timber skills. The jamboree is preceded by our local (OK, maybe a little corny) 4th of July parade.
Finally, we mustn’t forget about one of the best Independence Day fireworks displays at Bass Lake. People from all over the world come to celebrate the freedom of our wonderful country.

Clean, cozy "studio" with friendly owners and nice grounds in a great location.
Dedicated parking spot
big backyard with fire pit and swing. Enjoy the great outdoors.
Fully equipped kitchenette. So you're better prepared, the stove is not full size. Fridge/freezer is next to stove.

Great Stay

We stayed here and traveled to Yosemite, Sequoia & Kings Canyon. Great place to unwind in the evenings. Enjoyed watching the deer play in the back yard almost every evening. I’d recommend this place to anyone traveling to the National Parks in the area. Oh and the cookies were so delicious!!!

Great place to stay to visit 3 national parks.

This place was perfect for us to visit Yosemite Sequoia and Kings Canyon national Parks. Our hosts were very helpful and inviting and responded to anything that we needed help with. I would recommend this as a great place to stay.

Neighborhood stay away from town. Beautifu property with all we needed to hideaway or enjoy the great outdoors. Beautiful home with accommodations for private guest quarters. Access to property hiking bbq or just close the doors and cuddle on the couch to read play games watch tv. Wifi access worked great. No complaints

Quiet cozy getaway

This little cabin is so cute and cozy. We had such a great time here. Bret & Janel are such hospitable friendly people. We had everything we needed and more. The property is beautiful and theres plenty to do with just a little drive. While on our trip we enjoyed different areas of Bass Lake, Yosemite and Manzanita Lake in North Fork. We also enjoyed the property's creek and backyard area where we played darts, catch and went on a little walk. It was so peaceful and beautiful and we would be happy to come back!

I loved the Finegold retreat! It is a beautiful property and everything was immaculate. My room was spacious and very comfy, Janel (the host) is lovely and was so friendly and helpful suggesting hikes etc. She also leaves homemade cookies (yummm!) and gave me home made ice cream. I'd love to go back and stay longer.

My son and I stayed for a couple nights to get caught up, he lives in LA and I had a business meeting in Fresno. It was a great quiet place and the hospitality was 5 star. Including the fresh baked cookies. I would recommend this place. We hiked to Stevenson Falls and then spent the afternoon on a jet ski and swimming at Shaver Lake.

Welcome Respite

We had driven down from Sacramento to take a day tour at Yosemite. It was lovely to arrive to such a welcoming space and rest up for our tour. The cookies left were amazing. After our tour it was wonderful to retire and relax after a very busy day to prepare for our return to Sacramento. A nice getaway weekend.

Cute, rural property, far from the crowds. Lovely hosts. Very relaxing. About 30 minutes to Yosemite park gates, 90 minutes to the valley. It worked well for us visiting the valley. Microwave, aircon, etc.

Wonderful!

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights and it was so great! Everything was very clean and the communication and attention were spectacular! About a 40-50min drive to get to Yosemite in December. Definitely recommend staying here.

Best stay for couples and quick trip

We had a wedding to attend in Bass Lake and decided to spend the day in Yosemite. The home was so nice, cozy, and comfortable with a good view from the window. It felt like we were between Bass Lake and Yosemite. We had everything we needed for a quick getaway. It felt so private and the area is nice and quiet. At night you get a beautiful view of the stars. Our hosts were quick to respond to any questions we had before our trip. We would definitely love to come back and stay here.

WOW! Awesome place!

First off what everyone says about the cookies is true. Amazing!! We were lucky enough to stay at the time that plums were ready to pick and Janel told us to help ourselves. We picked a few and had them as snacks while hiking at Yosemite and they wrre yummy. Great hospitality. The room was spotless when we arrived and was perfect for our stay. We hope to stay again soon.

Hidden gem

We had a wonderful stay! On arrival, we were greeted with yummy cookies, which was a nice surprise after a long drive. The property was spotless - very clean and fresh. We had everything we needed, including plenty of help and advice on-hand from Janel! After long days trekking through Yosemite, we felt comfortable and relaxed in the property, and had a good night’s sleep. We would definitely come back when visiting the area - excellent hosts, comfortable and spacious property, with fantastic proximity to Bass Lake and Yosemite!
