We waited too long for check-in, although the woman who did the job was very friendly. Our room was large and our bed comfortable, but everything could have been quite a bit cleaner. Most disappointing was the kitchen. Two of the four items we wanted were unavailable in the evening, and in the morning we were informed that breakfast would not include eggs, since apparently they had "gone missing". The lighting didn't work in the stairwell to the accommodation area, which made use of the mechanical security keypad which unlocks the bedrooms corridor a challenge indeed, and the stairs themselves difficult for my 88 year old mother to navigate. The dining area suffers from enormous damp problems on at least one wall, and all of the public spaces are in somewhat desperate need of refurbishment. All in all, I would have liked this hotel - which in practice is a pub with rooms - to be very much better for the price.
