I was not expecting the most luxury nor up to date hotel after reading some reviews but as long as it was clean i was satisfied. Well, i booked the small room and i was very pleased, it was immaculately clean, the sheets were super soft, and all pressed. This will be my regular place every time I need to travel to this area. “The House on Chase Creek is absolutely amazing! My husband and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary and I’ve been telling him about Shelter Island literally for almost 40 years. Well we finally made it and the trip, the home, the welcoming of my dog, was all so just so welcoming and nice. “We were looking for a quick overnight in the East End, and the Harpoon House exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was spacious (a suite!) and well-appointed, blending the charm of the original 1648 (!) building with modern amenities and furnishings. We didn't take advantage of the on-property restaurant (formerly Blu Mar), but the menu - by acclaimed chef Rocco DiSpirito - looked excellent, if a bit pricey. Location was ideal, within easy walking distance of all Main Street shops and……
