Birthday weekend

I celebrated my 70th with family and that live in Island Lake! It’s a great location for me and it’s a beautiful setting. The house is clean comfortable and inviting. The process of renting couldn’t have been easier. Thank you for a perfect weekend!

Relax and Decompose

The lake house is something of a fairytale. Hugh trees with Spanish moss, an adorable home, and a spectacular view right on the lake. It’s located in the country so you can relax and get a piece of mind.

Great End of Summer Vacation

My family and I are frequent visitors to the Redwood Cottage and always have a great time. The weather was great and the fishing right off the dock was amazing. Ed has always been a great host. We have booked with him for at least 15 years.

Beautiful remote lake property

Our stay was great! The backyard is beautiful and we enjoyed canoeing and fishing! House was great and we all enjoyed it. Our one negative was the smell of the water was really bad so bring plenty of your own! We would stay again!

Perfect getaway

This is the second time I have rented from this owner. It is set perfectly on a lake and made us feel like we were on a true vacation from everything. The neighbors aren't close, but close enough that you don't feel too isolated. The home was clean and had everything provided that we needed. I hope to be back at some point!

Pictures don't do this justice!

We had an amazing time at the lakefront house. The host literally thought of everything for any renter, and the photos don't do the place justice. Plenty of space, clean, and an amazing view. Our pup really loved the fenced yard, too. We definitely plan to come back again in the future!

Breath Taking

The home is even more beautiful in person. The view of the lake is gorgeous. The home is large enough to spread out and still feel cozy. The yard was where we spent most of our time hanging by the firepit and kayaking was very enjoyable. Plenty of room for parking since we had adult children meeting us there. Thank you for the use of your home.

Can’t wait to go back!

We went with our dogs for Labor Day weekend and knew it was going to be awesome. It was exactly as we expected. Super relaxing and so gorgeous. Can’t believe I found this lake in Florida so close to home. We swam to the island, floated on water floats, watched everyone going by boating, tubing, skiing, etc. the yard was nice and big for outdoor games and the dogs. We took the canoe around the lake. We grilled out and had smores on the fire pit. The house was very comfortable. We want to come back and bring friends. Planning to return very soon!! Thanks Ed!

Lake front serenity with all the comforts of home

This comfortable, clean and modern lakefront cabin exceeded my expectations. Ed, the owner was fantastic. He clearly loves the area and wants his guests to enjoy it too. He provided us with great ideas for activities and restaurants. He called during our stay to make sure all was well. We kayaked the nearby rivers every day and each one was beautiful, and clear with plenty of birds and wildlife. Where else can you kayak a crystal clear river and observe monkeys in a natural habitat? There is plenty of room in this home and the fenced yard would be great for dog owners. The community is warm and friendly. One night we ate dinner at Ft McKoy community center. Home cooked food for $6.00 and the money went to a good cause as well. I would recommend the rental without hesitation.

Simply a beautiful place!

This is a very clean and beautiful cottage. We rented both the cottage and the guest house. There were five adults and four very large dogs and no one got their toes stepped on. We went to the rope swing a couple of times and to Salt Springs. Rode for hours through the country. We canoed and swam around the lake all day and night, cooked every night on the BBQ. Ed’s staff made sure we had plenty of wood for the fire pit where we cooked smores and just hung out and did a lot of talking and laughing. I also took a volleyball/badmittin game and there was plenty of room in the yard. The dogs swam and ran around playing and we didn’t have to worry about them getting out onto the road. No one, not even the dogs wanted to leave. Thank you Ed and your staff for making this a vacation to remember. We WILL be returning to this lovely place.

Fabulous FL Lake Stay

We were all very pleased upon arrival to see this beautiful property. The cabin is well appointed, clean, has a fantastic view with an open feel of surrounding windows. Gorgeous oaks with their Spanish moss abounding. The kids & dog enjoyed playing in the lake daily, canoeing around & just having outdoor fun. We brought bikes but didn't use them since the neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks & folks drive fast. Fishing off the dock was just what we wanted. The yard is fenced along 3 sides to the water, there is some gap by the gate(s) if your dog would consider running/swimming off you will have to watch them. There are motor boats in this lake with some noise but it is overall peaceful. My older 2 kids stayed on the bunk beds in the den with the TV (YouTube only available unless you have other subscriptions). This room is nice for family relaxing with comfortable furniture, only no door for those staying in it for privacy. One child in the guest room slept comfortably. Master bedroom is nice, some sag in the bed had us switching places after a couple days. The main bathroom has a walk-in shower & a tub in the master. Everything is labeled for easy use, there is most anything you need in the kitchen, nice washer/dryer. Plenty of towels. A Dollar G is a couple miles away for most food/sundries, but not a full grocery. Need charcoal for BBQ. Good wifi access. Few bugs, especially for FL by a lake. Need to transport trash to recycling center yourself. Beautiful & will return!
