  • Fully furnished with queen beds, refrigerator, and essentials. It's glamping with the comforts of home including tv, wifi, bbq grill, and microwave. Located on the Big Island of Hawaii between Hilo and Kailua Kona. Located approximately 3500 ft elevation on the slopes of Mauna Loa overlooking the southern most tip of Hawaii, the last pristine coastline in Hawaii. The mornings are sunny and overcast afternoons but beautiful starry nights.

We visit the Big Island 2 times each year and we always stay here 2-3 times per trip. They have always been very helpful even during the time KOA didn’t have any rental cars.

Friendly and accommodating host even when we arrived super late. The Yurt was also so nice, the photos don’t do it justice, was super clean and a comfy bed. Great stay and affordable price. Would stay again.

When booking I thought the yurt was such a great idea. This was such a cool stay, little off the beaten patch but worth the experience. Kai the host was great with check in and any information.

Yurt was very clean, and well appointed with dishes, cups, silverware, coffee & sugar packets. At arrival, host showed us how to use the camping type toilet & separate incinerator toilet. Also gave us some suggestions on things to see in the area, and popular bakery 29 minutes away. Highly recommend if you’re staying in the area

Ocean View Retreat

Great location for an off-the-grid R&R vacation (with TV, Internet, etc.). Simple amenities in close-by town were good and Kai Lokis was tremendous - food and atmosphere. Wonderful sunsets, sunrises and night sky viewing of stars.

Ocean was visible. Bathroom is in separate building. Walls are not animal hide but vinyl! Bring drinking water with you, what is available is rain catch with vinyl particles in.

We enjoyed our stay

We very much enjoyed our stay. We were especially grateful the host was willing to stay up and let us in when we arrived very late in the evening. It's a very comfortable place, especially if you want to experience some glamping.

There's more than one yurt on the property. We stayed in the studio, in which the bathroom is attached. No going outdoors to use the funky facilities. We were very comfortable and found the hosts to be accommodating. Gas grill has a side burner if you feel like cooking instead of dining out. The town is called Ocean View. As pointed out previously, there is no ocean view from the property. Incredible view of stars at night.We found this to be a great value and would certainly book it again.

Love This Place

We love the yurt. It has all the amenities, very comfortable and great location. Actually, for us it’s the best location possible for touring the island. The managers were very helpful and made our stay a wonderful experience. We love the Big Island and our stay at the Yurt here in Oceanside.

We were very happy to see the yurt looking so cute and inviting having everything we needed A new experance with the potty’s but everything worked great The flower beds were beautiful The bed was very comfortable We will definitely recommend your place to any who asks where to stay in Ocean View
