Having stayed in Nikko properties previously in Kyoto, Kanazawa, Osaka and Tokyo, the hotel facilities are consistent with the brand and visually impressive.
The rooms lack some modern conveniences expected in 4-star hotels - especially not having sufficient outlets to charge electronics, let alone ones close to the beds.
Service was uneven - first floor bar staff was very good; front desk was helpful but ineffective with our inquiries.
For those looking for the view from this hotel, note that the hotel restricts customers from the top-floor without a reservation for the French restaurant - we came for drinks shortly after dinner service hours (restaurant clearly nowhere near capacity) and were turned away.
