The old Venetian harbour of Chania as the gemstone on the most priceless jewel of western Crete, called old town of Chania.
The quay is the busiest part of the old town of Chania, filled with cafes, restaurants, bars, bakeries and other shops.
However, the harbour would have been just like another beautiful seaside tourist place, if there haven't been preserved its monuments since the Venetian rule period (1252-1645), the Ottoman rule (1645-1898 ), and the years of the Egyptian domination (1831-1841) that occurred during the Turkish period.

「We had an excellent stay at Porto Vecchio. The hotel itself is situated right in the old town about 2 streets back from the sea, in a pretty little corner on a lovely back street. As the old town is pedestrianised, we were dropped at the top of the main street by our taxi from the airport, 25 mins away, and had a short 5 min walk to the property. The reception is not manned at all times but someone was always at the end of the phone should you need any help and I believe, not far away either....

「Very nice property tucked away in the Old Town where all the action is food and shopping wise! George and his staff were very very amenable and ready to make sure we loved our stay. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was amazing! Great choice, fresh and generous portions. A couple of days we had early departures and George arrange for a takeaway breakfast option for us. I also needed laundry and George helped make it happen while we were out enjoying Crete! Important to note that the apartments...

「很愉快的入住經驗！我們被upgrade到海景套房，景觀真的很好！樓下就是熱鬧的海邊，雖然我們住一樓，關上窗就已經聽不到外面的熱鬧了，隔音做得好好呢！房間有點小，但很有設計感~ 設備都很好，好喜歡~ 距離巴士總站走路要上十五分鐘，我們淡季前往的，沿車路走夜晚很靜很暗但安全的，沿海邊走就比較熱鬧光猛。」

「Our experience at Thallos was amazing. Upon arriving Valia offered us cold drinks and a quick presentation of the city with a bunch of helpful suggestions on what to do. She worked really hard and made sure that our stay was as enjoyable as possible (f.e. borrowing sun umbrellas for the beach and bringing fresh muffins into our room). The room was as described and was cleaned everyday. Overall would really recommend this place!」

「Excellent location with easy walk to seafront. Suites are excellent with great facilities for eating in. Maria was tremendous and responsive to facilitating any query you had and Olivia was brilliant at looking after us and our accommodation. Highly recommend and would stay here again. 」

「Property was unique and traditional, albeit a little tired in places, but that added to the charm and we expected that to a degree when we booked it. 」

「Love this place. Beautifully decorated and very spacious room. Eventhough we are very close to the old harbour, bars, restaurants, etc, the room was Very quiet. Will definitely stay here again. Only problem is if you rented a car, not easy to find a parking space. This is because the area is very popular venue for dining」
