The local Navajo Guides with Jeeps for hire will laugh when you say you're thinking of doing this 17-mile loop through the most famous buttes of Monument Valley in a small car, but go ahead and do it. Carefully. We saved $170 and were able to maneuver through the gulleys and rocks just fine. Driving ourselves enabled us to decide how long to spend at each spot, and whether to keep driving or get out and hike at our whim. Take water and lunch! #Navajo #MonumentValley #Arizona #landscape

“Dark Canyon was indeed a great off grid experience. The 360-degree views around the cabin with no other humans around offered something not found very often. Sitting on the deck at sunset while enjoying a glass of whiskey and looking at the Bears Ears was truly a western experience. The sunrises make you want to get up early just to experience the beauty.
